WHat's your most outlandish kill guys? I have a few, most recently i was in an IL-2 3M with one of the 2 37mm cannons knocked out.

I was going at a 190 down low from his 3 ocklock and shot the cannon, which got the engine.
i couldnt believe it-was expecting a TnB.

my favorite was when i was flying online. i was in a zero and there was a p40 down low "takeing off http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif" and i fired my wing cannons both his wing blew off and the fuselage made a perfect landing slideing to a stop then he baild out.i dont know if thats outlandish or not but it looked real kool.

i once ran out of ammo and took down an il2 with my prop...chewed his tail off. don't know if you can still do this, this was a while ago.. but i was very pleased with myself, lol.

I once had a spit chasing after me while I was in a P38. I dropped my bombs to lessen the load, then they exploded after 5 seconds, they caught the spit.

The other day I got chased down in an IL2 Series 3 by two BF109 E's. They were shooting over each others shoulders and getting real close so I chopped the throttle, put down the flaps and gear and they both crashed into the back of me.

Once I was in a IL2 with gunner, chased by a Bf-109 (AI)... so I dodge and skip and I am desperate, cause I can't shake him off my tail, but I manage to make him lose E.
So I look frantically left and right, up and low, for almost a full minute, while the rear gunner is continuosly firing away, but still, I can't see him. As I have my plane quite damaged, I'm quite worried by his UFO play.
Well, there it goes the message "target destroyed" and things go on. I manage to get back home, with a heavily damaged airplane.

Later I look at the track... well, the 109 "hovered" almost at the same speed I had a couple of meters above me, while I was looking for him... and the rear gunner pumped belt after belt of MG ammo in his belly, 'till his tail came off and he plummeted to death. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif

Another time, I was in a P-47, going for a ground pounding mission (very long range), when I got bounced by FW-190s at almost 4k.
I drop my bombs, try to shake him off, and get shredded by his wingman. Smoking, almost stalling, control lines cut. Ok, time to hit CTRL-E.
So while I get my chute deployed and fall gently to mother heart... "Target Destroyed" and "Secondary Objective Accomplished". WTF??

Again, looking at the track... my bombs (hard time following them) fell straight on top of an enemy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif armored train!!

I was flying low in a p47, off to bomb some tanks on a scripted server. One of the blue guys got on my six and started shooting at me, so I dropped the bombs turned away and the explosion from the bombs got 'im.

i RTB'ed and landed the points, lol.

I happily dropped a "cassette" (many small bomblets) with the il-2 on enemy planes in flight for the first time online yesterday. (twice)

The first time I had good help from my wingman olli who warned me that I was being bounced; I immediatly released the bomblets and pushed stick forward and dived. the 109 had no time to evade the bomblets and got riddled and was completely out.

The second plane was a bomber who just had bombed our ground targets.
I arrived to the scen with another Il-2 and I think we both hit the He111
who tried to escape by landing on a field close by. Now ..I often leave damaged bombers alone (hard enough) but this time I had to dump my load because there was a 109 close by, so I practised on the bomber on his landingrun before tuch down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif (he laughed about it, probably never was bombed before, good sport anyway) , I had no time to apologize and when I had turned around the 109 made a pass on the other il-2 and I hurried to help. I managed to hit him on long distance but couldnt get any clear shot because he was experienced and stayed on the vertical and paid back by giving me a few holes aswell, but left when I hid in clouds.

I admit that much luck was involved and doing it twice on same night probably wont happen so often....but I'll save those tracks for a rainy day. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Here goes - Flying a TB3 online with me Klown mates, Woofer humped Krusty's leg causing krusty to porpoise the TB up and down, instead of the AI wineing - I decide to do it right

aim the gun at the Pilot (Krusty) and pull the trigger.

Result: scratch one Matey bottle shaped pilot.

You cant bail out when you kill the pilot can you?

Result: In a TB3 no one can hear you scream

Mine is an air-to-air bombing as well. It was some time back when Slammin was running his quake server. I dropped by and got into a mortal struggle with a common challenging adversary. The plane set (for those who don't recall) was the same for both sides and we were tangling over the "crater" lake repeatedly.

I finally decided to change the tactics slightly by taking a couple 50 kilo bombs with zero fuse timings. I nailed him three times in a row at about 2k and he left the server quoting something about cheaters...go figure.

Not really outlandish, but unlikely:

Flying a zero, empty cannons with only MGs left, I empty the rest of the mg into a P-38 from close range with just causing a fuel leak (he or she was a very good defensive pilot). I'm too close with too much speed and push forward on the stick. My Rudder rips the devil's tail off! I end up landing safely.

Flying 110 with the big cannon (37mm?) on the undercarriage, I get a few ground kills and a P-40 (I believe, maybe a 39, it has been a while) bounces me and gets one of my engines smoking, i think killing my rear gunner. He makes another pass and gets a few shots in. I turn toward him as he's making a level turn, thinking I'm done for soon, and from 800km or so I fire a deflection shot with the 37mm to see the 40 explode in a glorious fire ball. It was a desperate shot and couldn't recreate it if I tried.

Hi,

Prolly not that OTT but I once hit a plane with rockets, in a head on, at about 0.8km. It wasn't even a volley - just the last two I had.

I usually miss from 200m so this was a peach for me!

Cheers,
Norris

Often when Im carrying bombs in any plane
and get jumped by enemy fighters,
I go down low just over the ground
and with the fighters chasing me I
dropp my bombs usually with a 3 sec fuse
and boom they fly straight into the explosion,
I have done this many times and it works pretty well,
you just have to learn to drop em in the right moment,
my record is three fighters at the same time,

ive lost all/most of me controls so i drop flaps to climb to 500 too bail, i reach 500, bail out, lookin at me battered jug curve around, a 109 screams in firein and hits my p47's wing, removing his too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

the bridge is best...not sure if it could count as a kill, but...
i was in the P-51d mustang, with p-38Js against a lot more japanese aircraft, Zeros and Kis, to see how long i could last outnumbered. anyway, after a while i was one of the last in the air(but still with 3 kills) and there were still quite a few japanse planes in the air, all aces, and thats what makes the next bit so funny. for some reason they leave the small group of lightnings and mustangs alone and all go for me. i think 'hey, what will happen i i go under that bridge' so i get the mustang so low the wing is skimming the water, with bullets everywhere and the mustang has a faint trail of smoke coming from the engine. this is it..easy. then, once i clear the bridge, theres an almighty explosion..about three japanese planes crash into the bridge, two more crash into the water, and me and my damaged mustang get back to base before the rest regroup. i never thought the aces would be so dumb to follow me. it was like something out indiana jones! i've got a screenshot somewhere...i'll post it as soon as i can!

I was playing an offline scramble mission once over my airfield, which was being attacked by IL2s and LA5 escorts. I was in a 109G6AS and had gotten hit in the engine by a LA5, my prop stopped cold and I made deadstick landing on a taxi-way. I was thinking or course that I was going to get strafed so I was planning to bail as soon as I came to a stop on the ground. But as I slowed I saw there were planes fighting a low level right in front of me. An LA was chasing one of my wingies and I saw that he was going to pass approximately in front of my gunsite. As I sit there, having just stopped, I decided to let loose a volley of Mk108 fire just to go for a one in a million chance of hitting the LA. And I got him!!! He blew up in a explosion and I got credit for the kill, from the ground!!! I bailed out then, mission survived. This was and still is the only time I have heard of a parked aircraft being used successfully as a AA unit, either in real life or in a sim game!! It was blind luck, but it happens sometimes. It may have been the same LA which shot me down, as there were only two escorts. The track is unusable since this happened a while ago, even before AEP came out.
I can't remember which patch version it was or I'd actually go and install to that level again just so I could make an new Ntrack of it and preserve it.

I have two that spring to mind, not particularly outlandish, but very satisfying though.
1) Is in my movie "Secret Weapon over Stalingrad", where I was being chased by 3 109's (AI pilots on ace), and I went sideways between two smoke-stacks. The 109's didn't, resulting in a nice movie sequence of 3 planes being destroyed in my wake.
2) Flying online on UK Dedicated server, I was riding my trusty "Jug", fully laden, 6 rockets,1000lb and 2x500lb bombs. It took me about 8 minutes to get to 7000ft, when I spied a Ki-84C coming in at 3 o'clock about 6800ft. He was obviously ranging me to get in behind me, but I gained energy and after getting on his six, he panicked into an upward stall, which led to him cartwheeling in front of me. I used my .50's and a broad smile spread across my face as his wing turned to Swiss cheese and his engine caught fire at which he bailed at about 3000ft. I carried on to the enemy base and took out another two 84c's on take-off with my bombs and rockets, and managed to get another which was on my six, with help from a team-mate who decoyed him, while I came in and destroyed his controls, leading to him hitting the islands forestry. I still have this track, which I should have in another movie sometime this year.

For me, it's mostly long range kills.

First one that comes to mind was on a DF server, just at the beginnings of a head on pass. The other guy was in a 109, and I was in a P39.

I wanted to discourage him a bit from coming right at me, so as we were lined up I pulled back on the stick a bit to raise the nose to what I figured would be about right and fired one shot with the 37mm cannon at a range of 1.4km.

PK. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The second was more recent, also on a DF server (scripted) with very limited planesets. The other guy was in a 109, and I was in some sort of Spitfire.

We all had open comms on the server, so each side could hear each other. I was returning to the combat area with a new ride, and as I was climbing in I saw a 109 a little above me trying to rejoin his group. I dropped in behind him as best I could, but I was much lower and a bit slower than him and a decent distance away at about his 4 o'clock low.

His team mate called a warning over the comms that he had a Spitfire moving towards his tail, and his response was something to the effect of "I see him, but he's too low and slow to catch me from here."

About a half second later I managed a single shot with the 20mm cannon from about .70km out and saw a nice explosion centered right on the top of the canopy glass of the 109. PK.

Apparently German pilots swear in English after they die. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Outside of IL-2, I remember one back in the Warbirds days where I was flying a B-25 when a 109 pilot decided to make a head on pass. Since I had nothing else and was playing for fun anyway, I kicked the rudder hard to yaw the nose and fired the 75mm cannon. Direct hit just aft of the engine, huge explosion, and all that came out of the fireball were the 109's wings. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

most outlandish kills....hmmm...

First one:
I'm in a yak, climbing after a P51 or Me109, he's about 800 meters, and getting away, so im aiming a full crosshair above him, just to fire a shot before stalling, to my amazment the 45mm shell got a direct hit on the wingroot/fuel tank, blowing the plane to million pices...

iwe allways taken a shot at planes passing me, about 0-400 meters range, and have about 80% hit's on thise planes :-)
anyways
i was in a Stuka G, and flying at 110% power, and had good speed, looking too my left, i spot a 262 overshooting me, he's currently aiming for a teamie, and is about to pass me some 350-450 meters infront at high speed, from low left to top right, and as he's passing i send of a single shot of 37MM, hitting the fueltank, what a nice furhball :-)

and last, the 110 a marveles plane with firepower :-)
i had the 30mm with 20mm gondola, and was beeing chased by 2 LA's while i was chasing a third, i shot the 3rd one's control wires, and the First LA was closing fast, so i jagded the controls hard, forcing the 110 to flatspin, loosing most speed, and i had exterior view and saw tracers all over the place (got some hit's on me, no serious thing) and then i managded to gain control and what do i see infront of me, a nice, juicy, fat LA, so...i fired :-)) (no more LA), then i banked 180, and hunted the last LA, that was wingman to second one (he also fired at me during the flatspin), and surly enough, he was in a flatspin, so i fired, blowing the wing off, now that was a nice memmory of a online fight :-))

On a server with all my :FI: mates I was just started rolling to takeoff when one of my "enemy for the evening" M8's decided to straff the runway. I was in the Il2 for tank busting (maybe the stuka for tank busting, cannae remember, gettin old an memory goin) but as the bullet strikes on the runway headed towards me I pulled the trigger and low and behold I hit the bugger. I got damaged but next thing I know the kill message tells me that I had shot him down.
Pure luck, but one to remember.

I think this qualifies:

Playing the original IL-2 online, I was taking off in a P-39N1. A vulcher flying parallel to my takeoff route on the runway shot my right wing off as I was rotating... my plane flipped upside down and skidded along the ground. As the enemy flew overhead I fired a single round from the 37mm cannon while upside down skidding along the runway. The shot struck the enemy in the tail and blew the thing off. Nothing even remotely that bizzare has happened since... I have flown myself over after bailing out. Happened at least twice.

Most outlandish kill I made was in VEF2. I was in an Emil and all my buddies were dead, crippled our out of ammo and we still had 3 TB-3's to shoot down. I had been chewing on one and killed most of the gunners but I was all out of ammo. So I lowered my landing gear and landed on his left wing. His wing of course immediatly broke off along with my landing gear. I then made a belly landing back at base and the TB-3 was destroyed. That is the only TB-3 I ever managed to shoot down in VEF2. Unfortunately VEF2 didn't give me credit for the kill. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Last night, as i was coming in G6/AS for landing, plane shot up to bits... engine is dying. As i lowered the gear and started to line up...P-38 came in full force... i did a wide roll and he overshot... and instantly got load of 30s up his behind.... gotta love it.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Was in a near vertical dive in a 190-A6. Bouncing a tb-3 with two I-16's attached. I snapped off a wing on the first pass and both I-16's detached, one recovered and one didn't. Next pass I killed the pilot in the other I-16. So two passes and 3 kills. This sim online is intense.

Oh yeah that reminds me of the SPB's. On two occasions I shot down an I-16 while still attached to the TB-3. In one case I blew off his wing only he didn't relize it. When he released he of course immediatly spun out of control and crashed. The other time I simply blew up the I-16 and it of course blew up the TB-3 and the other I-16 attached to it. Now that was funny. 1 burst = 3 kills that time http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Too bad SPB's are so rare online.

Hmm i hate AI ace on a head on pass. So i decided to fight back in head on passes. I lined up to him in a head on and fire at around 700m. Most of the time he make evasive maneuvers and sometimes i hit his engine/wing. And everytime during the dogfight he make a head on pass i do this. Like the old Wild-wild west gunfight. I feel powerful cos i force him to make evasive manuevers all the time, i'm able to dictate the fight in Head on passes now albeit i waste quite a lot of ammo. Good for my anger theraphy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

well, I don't know if this counts... its rather my most freakish esape from death... i was online, chasing a B-17 with my spit...After pumping all the lead I carried into him I discovered I would crash into him unless I break off hard.
