Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been posting as much last week. I caught some horrible kind of flu and I was completely out of it for a few days; I'm just now barely coming back.

I have a huge amount of unanswered emails, unreviewed planes, untested maps, you get the idea. So I probably won't be posting much in the next few days while I'm catching up on all this stuff.

Anyways, this is what I need. I need accurate high-resolution blueprints of early B-17 models (and by that I don't mean 300x400 gif files you can find on google - yeah you know who you arehttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I need good three-views, and ideally cutaways showing internal structures and info on loadouts.

Secondly, info on Brewster F2A cockpits would be very much appreciated. As well as loadouts.

I don't think he said that...

They just need good data to model a earlier model of the B-17. B-17's that served in Europe didn't in the PTO so they need the earlier models.

Have some pictures and draws of some parts and details of B-17 B, C, D and F, but i dont have blueprints and cutaways.

2) F2A in general or any special model?

3) Where do you want the info to be send?. I can't post it here.

hey luther I have about 40 very high rez photos of the interior of Aluminum overcast. i tried to e-mail them to the modeler of the interior but i dont think his e-mail could handle it. and frankly neither could mine. they show just about every inch of the crew positions. and i know the company that restored it and they are very fussy, and claim it to be the most accurate flyable b-17 around. I could try to e-mail them to you, but ill be away from my comp until thursday, I am moving and our cable wont be set up until then. I can fit about one image mybee 2 per e-mail, thier big. another option and one that would be much easier for me would be to burn it to a CD and mail it to you. then i wouldnt have to reduce thier size to e-mail.
just P.M. me or e-mail me and ill sendum off.
I am checking my e-mail at a friends house.

p.s. I hope your feeling better soon. If you have the same flu my fiance and I had I feel your pain. this bug was wierd and nasty!!!

Luthier, There is a museum near by which specializes in warbird restoration and they happen to have a B17 on static display. I can call and see if they have any usefull info on the blueprints you need.

Luthier,
Glad to hear you are starting to feel better. Don't work too hard and have a recap before you fully heal.
I have some information on the F2A, and will send it this afternoon/evening (on my way out the door for a couple of hours). Hopefully its nothing you already have.

When you say early B17, how early do you mean, as I have excellent 1/72 scale plans for B, C, D, E(early & late production), F & G models.

scroll down and look for My gal sal restoration and start on the fuselage, couple of examples out of 400 pics on that alone here

Luthier,

Have you contacted the Smithsonian Air and Space museum in Washington, D.C.? They should have lots of stuff on WW2 aircraft.

You might also try Boeing Aircraft, perhaps their public relations department.

There is also the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Airfield in Ohio.

Good luck!

Good post, BaylorMax !

Do you have enough info, Luthier?
Need more?

Should this Topic be "unstickyfied"?

Luth I am sure you know this but did you write to the National Air and Space Museum? They are in the process of restoring the B-17D Swoose and may be of some help. I think this is the only D model still known to be in existance (other than the carcass you might find on the bottom of the ocean).

If not let me know and I can write to them, they may want to help, they may be interested in something like this game.

Dunno if these can be helpful in any way (the quality is not so good), but I'll post them just in case. Just let me know if you think they're c**p and I'll remove them.

Sorry for the big pics. I have a couple of more B-17 plans like these (same quality), but they seem to be too large for posting here.

Anyways, if you find these useful in any way, I'll post a link to a .zip with the rest as well. I also have lots more plans like these (all WWII aircraft). Just let me know if you're interested.
