Just posted this in Oleg's RR i just wanna know what you guys think about this ide'a?? Just a tought oleg...In FB i don't fly the heavy bomber alot. And there are a reason for that The bombsight it's to
complicated for me (call me stupidhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif) so how about the Cfs
3 style bombsight it's automatic all you have to do is drop the baybies when the sight are on the target. And you could
Make Automatic bombsight optional in the difficultuy settings. This bomsight adjust itself automatic after speed
and alltitude.

ok...Your stupid!

The bombsight in FB is fine. If you use it in higher than 850M runs. The higher the better.
Below 850M the ground passes by so fast its not usefull, so sit in the bombers postion, pick a road, and start dropping one pair of bombs as you cross the road. note the screen in front of you and what referance mark on the interior cockpit works for you. After a little practice you will be able to fly at 320KPH at 200meters and take a bridge out with just 2 50kg bombs...leaving you 28 more for the rest of your flight.

361stShrek....He-111 bomber. don't look up, cause i just flew under you, at less then 50meters.

I haven't taking the time to learn the automation system used in the HE-111 and TBs. I have watched the training videos but feel that most online maps/games don't afford you enough time or visibility to use these systems. Heck, I am begging most of the time for fighter escort just to make it near the base.

Therefore, I continue to practice my dive-bombing techniques. I like your suggestion, though, especially leaving the automation for full-realism for those bomber pilots who do use them (especially within campaigns).

If you like the bombsight in the TB3 that just has a cross hair and you release when the crosshair is on the target, you can do the same thing w/ the HE111 using some simple math. You'll want to enter the aircraft's altitude as normal. Then you adjust the bombsight angle w/ the Increase Bombsight distance command until you reach a certain angle The angle is:

TAS + 30 / 10.

So if I'm going 300km/hr (true airspeed) I'll want to make the angle of the bombsight read 33 degrees (300 + 30 = 330, 330 / 10 = 33). When the crosshair is over the target I just release the bombs, and WHAMO!

Thanks a lot georgeo76! You do realize that there will be a whole lot of us new guys now bombing at 300 km/h /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

They never taught us anything this useful in mathematics - thanks I'll need to try it out.

I haven't played any of the bomber campaigns. Do they teach bombing techniques in these campaigns or are you expected to know all this stuff right at the start?

In the tutorial that Alpha has made (nice - thanks) a "Bomb Auto" key is mentioned. I don't recall using this particular key. After pressing the automation button, I recall the bombs dropping on their own. Is there a "Bomb Auto" key or is this the "Automation" key (I'm at work will check tonight)?
