http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gifThe AI is ****ed up. Srry for the harsh words, but I'm really pissed at the moment. I know it't probably difficult to make an good AI for a flightsim, but come on. Especially in AEP, I find it very bad.

Take 1: I'm in a dogfight with a ME-109 when suddenly some ******* pilot starts shooting at MY bandit and damages my engine.

Take 2: Again in a dogfight. I manage to damage the ME enough to make it try to crashland. Happy as I was, I brake away and search for new prey. But then my lovely wingman shows up(finally) and starts shooting at what was supposed to be my kill. Takes of the bastards wing and clames the kill. Aaaargh!

Take 3: I think my squadmates have never heard of the word COVER. I'm engaging a bandit expecting my six is being covered by my number 2. Never so!! I realised that when I saw bleu tracers fly by my cockpit. I called for support like 5 times, but does anyone show up. Of course not. They where to busy, FLYING HOME. Asses!!

Now listen, I love the game in every way. It's great. But I hope the next patch bring some kind of AI upgrade. It would really improve the experience for all of us. I think a lot of people feel the same way.

Keep on flying!!

LOL, every situation you described has happened to me online, so I guess the AI are not much worse than live virtual pilots.

I have all this happen to me all the time, so I'm used to it, unfortunately. As far as calling for help, I find that if they are much more than 10 clicks away from you when they are heading back to base, they generally won't come to help. Also some of them may be low on fuel or ammo, or totally out of ammo.

Friendly AI does have its problems, I completely agree with you there-- but let's not forget the improvements of enemy AI. AI pilots are not a little bit more challenging (and therefore more rewarding) to fly against.

There's something about a person still new to the forum starting a thread raising his fist telling everyone what he think's sux. For most these things have been plenty obvious and discussed. Take some time Samuel to fully respect what's going on and you'll at least have some understanding, if that's what you want.

I agree. When I set the enemy AI to ace or many times even veteran I have a heck of time. I wonder if/when I play online if I'll survive long enough to enjoy it.

Had neat things like this happen to me also with FB v1.0
Told wingmen to attack targets or cover me,only to see them leave!
I really thought this was hilarious!
I thought to my self:"Fine guys!It's DIMDS(do it my d*** self)time!"

I wonder if a plane specific AI command could be sent using the same process to view individual friendlies.. like say scroll SHIFT F2 and give the command to the individual plane. One of my biggest friendly AI peeves other than the ones mentioned is the fact that they fail to completely exhaust thier ordinace. I hate it when a plane comes back to base with bombs on its rack or full rocket tubes. The enemy AI is outrageous though. Still all in all we have the best AI out in this sim...IMHO of course.

One thing our squad has noticed that if the AI fighters are too far away they won't come to help unless you ask ground control to vector fighters to you. They listen to ground control more than they listen to you.

However, if they are out of ammo I think they ignore everybody and just go home.
