My question is:
In FB is high altitude flight fixed?

In the original IL2 I'll fly something like a 109G6, a plane that is supposed to suck down low but do well up high, and it handles even worse. It seems like they're trying to model thin air but its ridiculous (stalling with slight movements and less horsepower then down low). During the B-17 campaign fighters flew between 6000 and 7000 meters and this is where their performance was optimum. With new planes in FB like the P51, b-17, and soon to be 110G, we can create good 1943-45 western front scenarios but what's the point if the planes can't fly over 5000 meters? I wanna get FB(gold version http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) as soon as i get a newer computer but if 109s still suck more at higher altitudes then lower, i'm gonna be dissapointed...

According to Oleg, the high altitude handling is realsitically modelled all the way up to 10,000m. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

When it comes to aircombat, I'd rather be lucky than good any day!

In FB as in RL you have to fly the plane very carefully at higher altitudes. I like fighting above 5000m, it's alot more challenging. The German and American fighters are definitelly better performers at altitudes above 6000m compared to the russian birds. In the original IL2 the russian planes never suffered at high altitude. Not even in the 1.0 vesion of FB did the russian planes suffer at alt. But now there's an obvious difference. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
