Ok, here's the deal. I've written up Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users and I want to post it to one of those free websites so I can add a link to my signature and folks can get their monthly dose of boredom by clicking on my link. Problem is, All these sites render simple things complicated. I've got it all written up in Word format and it has links to other sites. I just want to post this all on one web page and not end up with one continuous paragraph and also have the links active. I also want my paragraphs to look like paragraphs and not thin columns of text that you have to scroll and scroll to read. Any suggestions as to where to go? Come on guys! A golden opportunity to tell Luckyboy exactly where to go! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Why not just make it available for download and they can open it and see it as you have it now? It has to be a very small file if its just text.

Nice Article LuckBoy,

If you use the same HD for browsing online as you do for FB, then I would suggest to monitor your processes, services and registry. Read below on how to do this.

1.Restart
2.Ctrl+Alt+Del click on tab labeled "processes" to see a detailed list of running processes. If the number is higher than you've seen before. You might have additional processes taking up resources. Jot down the .exe file names.
2.At the command prompt type "msconfig" click on the startup tab, find the additional processes and uncheck. Click on the services tab and check box "hide all Microsoft" uncheck any unwanted services.
3.At command prompt type "regedit" navigate to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run" delete any unwanted registry values.
4. Navigate to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/services. Disable any unwanted services. (www.blackviper.com (http://www.blackviper.com) lists what services are required to run bare minimum)
5. Last but just as important do a search on the .exe files you found in the processes on your HD and your registry. Restart. -Check out your processes now!

I have found it much easier to maintain optimum performance by using a dedicated hard drive. I run a dedicated HD only with XP and FB/AEP installed. No virus protection, no adaware, nothing, just the bare minimum. Whereas, I run with only 15 processes, therefore, XP never exceeds 80MB. Every now and then I'll do a reformat to keep versions / patches clean.

Hope this helps,
Chadwick

Ok Coastie, I can do that. It is a 108 KB file. As long as when they're done downloading it they still can click on the links included in the article and the paragraphs don't get jumbled up, I'm fine with that idea.

PingDude, I have no idea what an ftp account is.

Someone please give me a link to a site that would meet my requirements please? Gee, you'd think after all this time someone here would be happy to tell me where to go!

Most ISPs offer free website hosting space and tools/templates to set up a website. Check your user account for info. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Problem is, I tried setting it up through my Comcast account, but if I do it that way, I end up with my real name listed and also, my business root e-mail account is easy enough to figure out from there. So to limit spam on that account and protect my privacy, it is not an option.
