I hear no explosions when ground attacking with 5inch rockets even if i fly through the rockets blowing up a Tank under neat me when I almost colide with the ground!?

I hear no AA explosions anymore i use to hear them in older versions of this sim.
Also if you fly trough a exploding enemy A/C, no sound!

besides from live accounts you hear from vet's that when you fly through a flak burst that already expolded you hear the sound of "Hailsones on a Tin roof" the fragmentary shrapnel hitting the A/C.

If you turn your engine of their is no sound!

Ever flown in gliderplanes? there certainly is sound externaly the plane has a wisthling sound. Internal sound is improved when gliding the Me163 I have noticed.

also when your hit in the canopy plexiglass in reality large chunks of the canopy would be destroyed to simulate this, the sound that is used already in open cockpit A/C should be used. And the rideculous smal 'comic book bullet holes' should be replaced by bigger jagged edged holes as shown in many WWII combat damage photos.

Keep up improving this wounderfull sim, spaziba!

S! Yes, I have to say that the sounds is lacking in many areas. And i would also like to see the sound of the different engines improved and gear and flaps sound also.
Thanks

Yeah, a good solid "thunk" would be great so you know your gear is up or down.

I agree with this sound issue and more ! Why do all the planes sound the same? I remember at warbirds (oops...dirty word around here) they had about 10 different engine sounds, and a gazillion incidental sounds, various gun sounds with different ROF, a multitude of damage sounds, mtal tearing, pings etc., various flak sounds, and not only that but they allowed third party custom sounds !! So come on guys...you have the best flight sim on the market graphically, so lets get with the program and get working on updating the sounds. Or at least give us some feedback on any future plans in this regard. we'd all appreciate it.

I think 99% of the people who play this game want better engine sounds. After hearing a few of the planes IRL fly at airshows the sounds in IL2:FB are somewhat disappointing.

The sound in FB certainly isn't bad. In fact it's very good in some areas but sadly lacking in others. Landing and takeoff sounds are especially good I think.

The one thing that bugs me most is the flaps sound. If you jam your flaps the sound can be deafening.

I think that the way you hear other aircraft from the cockpit is about right although it should perhaps be a bit louder when an aircraft passes a couple of meters away.

But yeah a complete overhaul of the sound engine is required. I'm sure we won't get that in FB but I'm sure we will in BoB.

Its very frustrating online listening to 108's and 50cals coming from certain directions but not seeing any tracers. I think the radar sounds have gotten worse in this patch and its as bad as 1.22. Hearing guns fired from across the map sound like they are within 500m. If anything needs to be addressed its this.

Did anyone see that or was it just me?

I would really like better Mg sound.

I think i remeber some info that says the .50 had this typical "bling,Bling,Bling" chainlike sound, maybe like BF1942 ( ahhh, arcade )

Some guy said it whas caused of the empty shell ejaction

Check out the .50 sounds (these are WWII M2 .50's) and the engine sounds. The .50's sound pathetic in this game. Engine sounds could be better too.

Hey Red Storm,
Thanks for the link ! EXCELLENT sounds !! I hope Oleg and the tech boys will check out this link and see what we're all talking about in regards to sounds. That spit is awesome ! I moved your link to favourites as I'm sure most of us will be doing. Hopefully if they ever configure this game for user add on sounds, we'll know where to go. Thanks again Bud.

IMHO the main thing why all il2 sounds is "unreal" is bacause the sound undynamycal(i hear the same-old-borring-109start sound) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
and it cant be dynamycal because of computer limitations.

come on, the sounds arent that bad. guns could be better but engines are ok. at least for inside the plane.
what you hear outside on an airshow isnt what you hear inside the plane... just think about what the props do to the sound outside (theyre a main reason why the sound changes when the plane is above you)
also, if you want to hear something nice in FB, turn your speakers up, and listen to a Bf110 at medium/low RPMs
It sounds great....

Everyone else has that bloody annoying warning horn when you engage flaps in the 109, don't you?

Why does that thing keep blaring? I thought combat flaps were just that, for combat, but that damn horn keeps blaring at any speeds above ~250kph (estimate, haven't looked specifically). Is there a way to turn that blasted thing off?
