View Full Version : Ingame TrackIR decrease in performance!

I no longer have the range of view I had with AEP 2.0. When I tilt my head back to look up I am stopped at straight up. When I look at he tail I only get the vertical stabilizer and 1 horizontal stabilizer not 2. It has lost the smoothness of having the full 360 degree view and I dont like not being able to tilt my head back. Why take this away from us? This is one reason I bought the TrackIR and now it is gone. And for those of you who think this a cheat, its only because it was a much smoother pan. By the time you see an airplane on your six IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE FOR THIS VIEW TO BE A HELP. The view limiting is too much! I'm very unhappy!

The only thing they did was to block the complete 360deg view which was unnatural. No living human can do that so why to have unrealistic advantage over your opponents without TrackIR? The panning has been improved in the back hemisphere of vision but forget about unrealistic head turning.

It's good they have blocked the view for TrackIR users - it gained bad reputation as cheating device. I to use TrackIR when flying but can easily hold my SA without resorting to full 360deg of vision in all axes of motion. Learn it too.

There is a fix for it that someone found by editing the registry. Look for the thread.

Calm down,
just execute regedit and find 'viewlimiting' key, change the value from 1 to 2. You won't have any problem now. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Erbriac evidently you missed the whole point of my thread. It is the smoothness that is gone. I can do without the six o'clock view as well as anyone but can you not tilt your head back to see up. I think you can. My gripe is the extent of the view limiting

I can do easily what I could do in previous versions. I just marginaly increased the speed in the TrackIR control panel to adapt to the enhanced backward view. If I missed your poit, then sorry.

I always have a problem when my freedoms are taken away. Especially at the cost of performance(which all of us that purchased TrackIR's paid for). The whole point of the unit was to be an ADVANTAGE, not using hat switches and the improved smoothness of operation. Well my freedom of head movement was taken away so I have the right to complain. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Calm down. TIR works as great with the patch asa before.

The problem is you response curve or some excessive background light.

Negative maxim26 on the response curve or BG lighting. Stopping head movement at straight up isnt right because eye movement can exceed this. The same with lateral movement and peripheral vision. I just don't appreciate loss of head movement because of a bunch of whiners.

It should help you.

Calm down. Its a registry setting. Read what people are telling you and stop making stuff up.

"Smoothness" my rear. The math doesn't even support that statement.

360 / 100 = 3.6 degrees per step
270 / 100 = 2.7 degrees per step

Clearly, the less you pan, the smoother the action.

Thanks maxim26 but it doesn't seem to work for me. I am using TrackIR 2 V3.10. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

BaldieJr dont be an insulting know it all. Smoothness may not be the correct term. How about the fact that eye movement exceeds head movement in both the vertical and horizontal. I know that with eye movement I can exceed both paramaters now restricted by the new settings in real life. That is my gripe.

and just to reiterate, you only get the same panning ability as those not using trackir - not MORE.

I noticed much restricted panning, especially upwards, after the patch.

Don't think just get one you won't be dissappointed. It's one of the best investments you can make. It's well worth the money. I can't fly without it.

You make no sense, which one is it the view limiting or the smoothness? If you ask me everything is just fine with how it is now.

whurst1, I have a T/IR 2 and can only look straight up along with over the shoulder for left and right. So your's is ok. You should also be able to look down into the seat. So with this it's no cheat as some might suggest. Just try different profiles some of the guys have posted at Naturalpoint Forums..... http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Mine works the same as before AEP and after plus it's working ok with the 2.01 patch too.

BaldieJr, phooey on you... CFS3 sucks and I loves me dear ol' mom. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
