lol... wouldn't that be realistic. i mean, real pilots must have had to learn to cope with nausea flying all kinds of maneuvers.

After 2 day of flying with TIR2, I think I am already 80% comfortable with my TIR, it give me an edge, serious edge I mean.

However I still need to disable it temporarily before shooting at anything.... otherwise once i press on the trigger my head will shake *unintentionally* and that ruin my aiming once and for all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

It is not too bad, with my cougar enabling / disabling TIR is as easy as breathing.... but I know that one day I will be flying with my TIR enabled all the time

Bear,

Crank up the smoothing.
Make sure you have a deadzone.
On the up/down axis ( i think its "Y" ) bump each edit point up by 2-4. You want your left/right control to be less sensitive than up/down because of aspect ratios of monitors.
Practice.
Create a free-flight mission in something like an I-153 and go sight-seeing down low, and in cities. If you jump straight into a dogfight you'll be asking for motion sickness.
Some people suffer simulator sickness when using tir.. you just have to ease through the first few days... it'll get better, and you will thank the Sim Gods that your bought it.

I set a huge deadzone. This way u can be centered and move ur head a little.

It took me couple of days to get used to trackIR but now it is a second nature to me. I don't even notice it. Great device!

Hang in there Bear. As the others have said, I widened my deadzone a bit and cranked up the smoothing. It was still a bit awkward for a few days, but that goes away and becomes second nature.

I equate it to learning to drive a stick shift auto. At first, it requires lots of conscious effort but after awhile, you don't even think about it.

Congrats Bear!,

Follow the advice in the previous posts. Set your acelleration low until the last 2 points. I'll put my profile up on the TA site. Also, if got the track hat, try wearing it backwards. The big reflector on the back is closer to your forehead and reduces the acelleration effect compared to the reflector on the end of the bill or mic boom. It took nearly a month with LOMAC then FB before I found the right profile that made TIR second nature. Now I wont fly without it. Last night I turned off the view limit in the registry and got an even more realistic range of head movement. I'll be online tonight by 10PM, see you in HL. Please reply to my "Homemade rig for $500" post.
