I have been in a few biplane servers and am having problems with the falco. Got my arse kicked by the I-153. I have to constantly shift from wide to no gunsight view to keep my quarry spotted. I feel like Im flying a tank looking through the slit. Anybody successful with the falco?

thanks

I have been fairly successful with it but only after externals are OFF. That way I find I can hit a Chaika without him knowing where I am. With externals on I have no chance really.

Chaika is superior to cr42 in all possible ways: armament, speed, turn, visibility etc. and it seems it is very well armored against cr42 and j8a, actually I think chaika in biplane servers is like me262 in propeller, way too good for its enemies. Just my opinion.

I agree. Offline, I have to use half of my 400rounds of Breda 12.7 ammo to kill one. Havent killed on online yet. I think the main problem is the view. Its impossible to keep the target in sight on a computer. The upper wing is way too big. Otherwise, I think I could hold my own in the falco.

The top wings looked that big. Really in your face. hehe this is Awsum! Real life pilots Whined too. This is the exact reason some designers made gull top wings. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Really? Never knew that. Always figured view was better with open cockpits. Thought the gull wing configuration was for aeronautical reasons. Don't feel so bad now.

No, the view is worse in the early birds, not just the top wing but the interplane struts and wires. There are obvious exceptions, like the Fokker Eindecker monoplane....and the Etrich Tubbie http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

It was a real WW1 plane (actually from 1911),
take a look---> http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/w1/uhlirtaube.htm

View ahead from cockpit here would be Perfect.
