Have you read his thread on trim, or on being an ace? A lot of it is just friendly ribaldry though. I bet RBJ willbe pleased with you though! I think he has found a new friend.

Hey! C´mon! I think you are quite unfair with RBJ...He has helped a lot of people here also...doesn´t that fact count? Noooo...of course...you just see the slider thing...well, I also do use trim on a slider, so? Am I a devil for that? Should I be blamed? Let people be free to play the way they want and say whatever they want...RBJ just defends his position and ideas, just like most of us.

I find it rather funny and interesting that when there haven't been any talk about RBJ for a while, there comes a "New User" who thinks RBJ is great.

not wanting to inflame his ego but I, as im sure alot of others too, find him quite witty, and i'm sure 99% of what he comes out with is to be taken with a pinch of salt.

i know a few "veteran" posters find him annoying but it seems to me that the majority of people having a go at him seem to be relativly new users who seem to have either seen others have a dig at him (whether intentionally friendly or not) or do not understand this mans humour.
gifted troll or moderators alter ego - i think this forum would be alot duller without him

Ah RBJ? As soon as I hear this I jump in! Of course the man has very important contribution to this forum. Whithout RBJ I would never knew what an ace can be. Today I know. An ace is somebody speaking about himself of how an ace he is , hehehehe. Ever seen that movie The Quick and the dead? Remember that shinny dressed guy wearing a blackheart ace on his boots? Hehehehe , everytime i see RBJ i can't stop thinking on that movie. Oh , and this is for RBJ , you said that in a month you'll come with some tracks which would proove , once for ever , that you are the ultimate ace. have a free advice here , a month is not enough to learn the basics in this game. first of all , you should hurry up to the store and buy the game , coz without it you can't record any track , this in case that it will be you doing them.

RBJ doesn't do any harm and can be very funny. I think a lot of the time he has his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, and it's good to have someone who openly advocates the no-cockpit view etc over the hard-core sim settings favoured by many - adds variety and gives a refreshing change of perspectcive. The forum is definitely better off with him present.

The people who really harm this forum are those with a creepy eagerness to defend anything to do with Nazi Germany.

Rocket Dog,
You can't deny the fact that the German beer , even done on the nazi times , was not good at the time.
The forum will be probably quiet if RBJ would leave , which I thing will happen once X-Wing will pop up with another version , or Crimson skies goes one version up.

These quotes really describe RBJ:

There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.
--Douglas Everett

You can throw away the privilege of acting, but that would be such a shame. The tribe has elected you to tell its story. You are the shaman/healer, that's what the storyteller is, and I think it's important for actors to appreciate that. Too often actors think it's all about them, when in reality it's all about the audience being able to recognize themselves in you. The more you pull away from the public, the less power you have on screen.
--Ben Kingsley

... I like the guy, it gives a different twist to this forum (much needed) be that positive or negative he does balance the mood here. RBJ continue with your comments, they are welcommed.

Enjoy!

Why are so many flaming RayBanJockey? Because that's the way he likes it!

He puts up
-some good points
-some utter crap
-some funny stuff
-some things just to wind people up
-with a lot of abuse

And as already said, if his name doesn't crop up for a day or two he'll post something and remind us he's still out there. He just loves the attention.
Love him or loathe him, the forum would be worse off without him.

Cheers!

See thats the problem with him right there. He comes on preaching how great an ace he yet never flies, never shows any proof then whines about not being able to turn off the cockpit view and turn on the icons.

Well i must admit i'm no ace nor to i care if i ever get the title of one, but if you can't fly without icons you are no where near ace status. As for the cockpit you need it for engine management how can you adjust if you aren't looking at gauges for it. But again when you fly on easy and call yourself an ace none of this matters.

Course we shouldn't forget the great ace he is needs no gauges for he can tell by the sound of his engines. But then this leads us to believe if you could tell by the sound of the engine then why have them in the first place. How about a cup holder, or even a small radio or maybe a place to rest your feet. I'm sure all pilots would love to just listen to one thing then have to watch over dozons of things.

But in the end whether he is right or wrong and how ever you wish to see it, you can always get a rise out of him. For he knows all.

May you not become a dirt torpedo.

Folks just need someone to pick on and RBJ has become/made himself an easy target. However, what I like about RBJ is he is consistent, try's hard not to make it personal inspite of people attacking him and he really does have some interesting points(not that I agree). Oh yes and many times his posts have made me laugh with and at him. S! to RBJ.

I don't know RBJ don't care one way or the other, I've found a lot of good advice here and some real stupid sh!t. and take it for what its worth! I am a Noob to FB and don't want to fly anything else, I do have a ? What is an ace! I mean on line only, do you count your kills in a single mission or all of them over your entire online history, do you end that history if you're killed and start over, how do's that work! And no I'm not looking to be an ace hell I do good just to get home! I do fly cockpit on no icons but still use the in-flight map icons, some of you buggers can be hard to find. It just wouldn't mean as much if you keep counting even after you've been killed, not counting bail outs or crash landings, you walk away from, just asking!

I will add fuel to RBJ's psychosis...he is a master at trolling and like any specialist he gets a great response. Just look at this thread.

At first I did not think he could last he seemed very unstable and would either commit suicide or die in one of his asphixiation/masturbation scenarios that he most likely indulges in after fantasizing about multiple online kills.

Believe me that first little avatar of him wanking was way too much. Over the top he surely is....harmless...I would not let any small children near him. He is in dire need of instutional help. The pathology runs deep with this one!

Mmmmm chicken soup for the soul thread. Seems like everybody loves me, even Loco-S (I'll send that snapshot of me shooting down a plane soon buddy!) I am an online ace, who decided to become a forum ace.

The only thing that can draw me away from combat flight is MMORPG. It's not like FB is in the hottest shape anyway. And when SWG comes out with the space expansion pack, and we can fly Xwing and Tie fighters then You may have seen the last of RBJ... that is, unless Oleg speeds up the trim on a slider and makes this game fun and fair for everyone. (instead of for the exploiters, like me) I am a Libra. This game is too easy now for me to kick everyone's butt who isn't using the RBJ shift. Here's to Oleg making the trim like it was in IL2 so there can be some better sticks out there, and those who fly with dual precision (stick: 80% control, Slider 20% control) can be rewarded.

I did like Crimson Skies, still do, its not realistic but can be a serious fun in LAN with your mates /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Only one?...man, you need to show the world how you decimate whole squadrons!...how people run in panic after they learn there is somebody unknown that just entered the server!...how your hydrophobic fans foam and die of dehydration before you!

you have too much to prove!...show us how you get 100,000,000 points in one minute! how you loop the loops and fight under deep black out!..show us how you destroy dozens of other netizens just with your evil monobrow without shooting a single shot!

oooooohhhhhh.....

Mods - can you see IP addresses of posters?
If so did RBJ really begin his own thread about himself /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif ?

Why we are flaming RBJ?

When I joined the forum in search of a place to find answers and, from time to time, have a laugh, I found his threads very informative, I learned a lot of small tricks and tips from them, eventhough I don't use most but they were brought to my attention, I like flying as close to real-life as possible.
He had/has his opinion on different things like realitysettings and the use of TrackIR, I respect him for that.
But after some time, I've bought the TrackIR meanwhile, I found him reluctant to admitting that the TrackIR has any advantages, despite most people who has tried it says so, okay that's his opinion, but I can fly without padlock for the first time in my simming-"career".
Furthermore is he claiming to be something that he can't prove, RBJ I'll believe you if you at least proved it, that's to be an ace, now, I find that claiming acehood in a flightsim quite funny, but nevermind, his not showing any modesty.
I wonder RBJ, will you leave a server if shot down? Or will you scream something like "lucky shot"?? That's the feeling I get when I hear you flaming people who just try to prove a point or get you to prove a point.

He's more or less putting it on himself....

But the funny part would be, if he was a real clever and funny dude who just do it to tick of everybody/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

RBJ is a master troll, when he first appeared on this forum he racked up his post count in a quiet way, just moving in to the community not causing any fuss.

Then came his "The Secret To Becoming an Online Ace" thread, in which he claimed that removing the Mk108 from the 109 gave him the edge that he needed to dominate the online skies. (this was IL2 when the BFs werent so nerfed)

He followed that with the trim debacle, and his love for the wonderwoman view "step up to open cockpit" etc.

RBJ's posts are carefully designed to get the more serious players insane with anger, and on the whole they have been very sucessful.

I still see some of the vets from this forum responding to RBJ's posts, I'm guessing their just throwing bananas into the cage so to speak, but isnt it obvious to everyone that RBJ is just an alter ego of one of the regs on here?.

I would hazard to guess that RBJ is the creation of more than one regular here /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

When I starting reading his posts I thought he was a jerk. However he is growing on me.

I don't know if he's serious or if he is just baiting people but he does add a fun element to these boards.
