Help! Could somebody post a track of them pushing the 2.04 Spitfire IX (non-clipped) to the extreme.

I can't enjoy the "new" SpitIX FMhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif, I think its because I seriously cannot see much difference, I have been in dogfights with it and it still seems to turn (low speed) like in 2.01. Plus it still spins very easily and feels really heavy.

I am almost at the point where I will reinstall the expansion pack and apply the 2.01 and 2.04 patches again, just to make sure they installed correctly.

Normally I can notice a difference in aircraft FM's but on this occasion I am finding it really difficult. A track would give me an idea of how everybody else's 2.04 IX is handling.

I flew the 109 a lot and now i try all kinds of ac.
I find the spit difficult when i fly in the manner of the 109.
The spit is very sensitive on the elevator and cant be used harsly like in the 109.
I will try to set sensitivity down on the stick so the stick range will be greater.

So far I have noticed it can turn really sharply, but a few mm stickpressure too much will make it flip. So it must be adjusted on the stick I belive.

just a few thoughts http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Don't think flight model was changed for the Spitfire, only overheating properties.

I have some spitfire tracks on my website from 17.07.2004 (2.01)... http://www.dreyermachine.com/il2/

Cheers for the extensive! list of tracks, I already have a few with the Spit in them. What i'm really looking for though, is a post 2.04 track, with a SpitIX (with 100% fuel and non-clipped wings) turning n burning. I now use only 50% fuel and that helps the handling, but I still feel it should perform better, since the FM is supposed to be tweaked, it still feels like the 2.01 aircraft.

F19_Ob - "it can turn really sharply"

what fuel load did you have? because like I said, it still feels very heavy, especially with full tanks.

Spit does not have an out of the world sustained turn rate. It's good and slightly better than most LW aircraft but you should really take advantage of its tremendous turning ability at high speeds. Sustained turning is bad in any aircraft, people don't seem to realize that.
