This game will not be playable, and matchmaking will not be a thing, if more players aren't in the pool. This is extremely concerning.

EDIT: Numbers based off of social tab at 11PM MST Saturday 2/18 for the PC.

Hey, do you know what people do before they buy games?

Look for threads like this one, and then decide not to ****ing buy games.

Shhhh.

A couple of my friends aren't playing till the guardbreak patch. Extrapolate that out and maybe its 10% of the playerbase? Maybe some others waiting on a balance patch they think will come?

Not sure why they didn't push out the GB patch for what was likely their most crowded weekend though.

Guard Break is an abused and a broken mechanic.

Stamina drain on block solves all the turtle issues - block when out of stamina, get knocked down and free heavy overhand. Stamina drain on dodge as well should be implemented.

GB should be removed from the game period. Add in a combo throw/push after for each class like the nobouish's kick after three lights. Dodge-able but punishing. Each class should have a combo sting that they can put out that is not "stopped" by blocking - ie the chain of three commands isn't lost. Follow that with a push / kick.

Classes that have a "charge built in" like Rider Law bringer, shugoki etc, keep those as current.

What the hell? You can counter guardbreak, it needs timing, but after practicing a bit I could handle that. I prefer practicing that too, instead of not playing it.

At least give accurate info, there was 93000 players online yesterday at PC

OP:
I saw about 70.000 players online in the last to days evening. That is a huge number for me. Sure, it's not that much like rainbow six siege, but who care?

GamerBucketXbox

128k online for Xbox at 1am Eastern.

Close to six figures on one platform, that's pretty damn awesome.

Want to see terrible numbers? Diablo 3 sold 6 million copies its first week, and had about 20k people playing before the end of the month...

Ubi already stated that GB countering isn't functional for some characters.

Yeah numbers are there but getting a game is another thing all together.
Ive been having to play Multiplayer vs AI with AI teammates prestiging 3 Viking characters simply because, while the numbers are high those numbers are worldwide and this game continent locks you meaning I as an Australian player get next to no match making so out of that 93k players online id be lucky to run into 1% for the simple reason no 1 is bothering to buy this game while the P2p network connections exist.

you're also forgetting that you are only sampling within that hour. There could be 50,000 in one hour and another 50,000 in hour 2, and so on. multiple that by a 24 hour day and you get roughly 1.2 million players on a single platform. and if you look at the steam stats, its listed as number 8 in the top 10 most played games. So it's a healthy. So don't be over dramatic

Ye people like to dramatize so much, sure there are some problems but they are getting in to already

This game is doing rlly well after launch, we don't need those pessimist comments at all

It's holding it's own so far on Twitch. It's never dropped below sixth position and is consistently in the top 4 most-viewed games. This is important because highly viewed games have great marketing potential.

Yep it's early days. I suspect this first month is crucial. It will determine whether this gsme truly has Esport potential or if it is just another title.

I am calling a "The Division" situation here. The way for honor is going atm i cannot see it last too long BUT if the problems are rectified quickly WITH the right changes then i can see the game doing fairly well.

I'm almost 100% positive you'll find something else to blame after they make guardbreaking easy again.

Yeah I've seen as high as 150k on PS4 so I think it's doing alright. On top of that, I'm getting matches. So yeah, game isn't dead.

On prime time (late-evening and on weekends) it has around 90k players on PC, 100-130k on PS4 and around 100k on XBOX1.

Just sayin'.

It's not about making it easy again. It's about making it work for anyone who isn't a human supercomputer...or the host ;-)

How about the unfair matchmaking that pits fresh players against prestige 3 enemies?

How about the already slower classes like Lawbringer or Raider, whose block-responsiveness is 3 times lower than that of other characters, which puts slower classes at a severe disadvantage?

How about the P2P infrastructure that turned out to be the garbage everyone predicted it to be? Whoever decided P2P was a good idea in this game shoud be fired immediately.

I can deal with the constant crashes, the potato Uplay client and the lack of content, but the fundamentals of the game have to be spot on. Sadly, they're not.

The guard break isnt a problem at all. The only broken stuff in the game, are the combos from the Warden and Conqueror... Almost anyplayer with high lvl reputation makes the same combo over and over and over weapon hit, shoulder charge, weapon ht, shoulder charge, and on and on.... It is almost unblockable nor impossible to evade... Like i said "almost" sometimes you can, but most of the times you cant...
