if he uses arcade settings in FB he might enjoy it. (externals, no cockpit, unlimited ammo, etc...)

if he likes simulations with full real, he'll despise it!

SWON doesn't even come close to what IL2aep has to offer...if you like arcade style playing then it might be right up your alley. I quit playing my PS2 and Xbox long ago, ever since I hooked up on a decent PC and stumbled across IL2...nothing gets my rocks better than IL2(other than sx of course). It's a drug, and it's legalhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

So, IMHO tell your bro to ebay the PS2 and build him an average PC, then a copy of aep and it will be all over my friend...muuuuahhhhhh

HELL NO.

It's not even remotely close to being a decent flight simulation. It is basically a first person shooter in the air. Think, Quake of the Skies and then you've about got it.

I'm sorry, but there's just no way to get anything remotely close to a PC-level simulation on today's consoles.

It comes as close to FB as five-a-side football comes close to the UEFA cup, or a golf cart to an F1 racer, but if it is an arcade shooter he is after he might well enjoy it.

Who knows, he might even get the plane bug and save some money for a PC...

He could also try the various Lethal Skies II, Deadly Skies 3, Iron Aces 2, but they are more about Jets.

But make sure you tell him that SWON cannot compare to FB at all!!!

SWON is nothing like FB.It's a straight up arcade game.I personally thought it sucked a big one.I advise he rent before he buy to see if it suites his tastes.Don't make the mistake I did...

Actually.. just as a point of order, my best friend races high powered karts and has turned laps with the likes of Paul Tracy and others that do so in the "off season" for fun and to keep themselves sharp.
