turns out this is one of their tour stops.
they leave fri. but i can't get off work to go. what a drag. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

why in the middle of the week? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
i'm heart broken & happy all at the same time.

But missing a once in a life time chance to ride in a B-17 is a hard thing to miss out on.

I saw one take off last year for the first time ever. I nearly soiled myself with excitement.

Saw (and touched) a B17G2 when I visited the US, last year. Okay, it was largely disassembled for restauration, but a really impressive experience. Also touched 2 B25s http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

It was a small restauration museum in Orlando, FL. The P51 was just tested when we came there. Awesome sound.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Don't you have some sick days or something you can use. Cmon man this is a B17 we are talking about here. in a few years there wont be any to ride in most likely.

CH,

The really nice thing about Sentimental Journey is that it's flying again.

A few years ago they discovered metal fatigue in a main wing spar and grounded it. There was real doubt it ever would fly again because major surgey was required.

Those restoration folks are very good at what they do.

It's based in Mesa, AZ and I used to see it flying a lot when I worked there. (Not to one-up ya, but I've ridden in it three times; those CAF folks are very good to newspaper reporters http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

When I left Arizona it was nothing but a static display. I'm really glad it's flying again.

Aloha & S!
