when were ther Germans equipped with 190A4's on the Eastern front? Leningrad to be precise?

I met some 190A4's over Leningrad January 5th 1942, and I think I saw some 109G2 in the previous mission.

I dont think this is historically correct to meet 190's and G2's this early during 1942 around Leningrad so amends should be made

thx

I have 6 September, 1942 as the first combat flight of an Fw190 on the Leningrad front. The unit was I./Jg51.

It depends on how exact you want to be I guess. I've seen these 190s identified as A-3s, but it could be wrong. The A-4 was debuting at this time. Regardless, the A-3 and A-4 were virtually the same. Changes included a different radio, antenna mount on the tail fin, and the engine was adapted to be used with the MW50 system, but I don't think it was ever installed until the A-8. So as far as this game is concerned the differences are negligible. Bottom line is that early September 1942 is when you'd see the 190s show up around Leningrad.
As for the G-2, they didn't enter production until May of 1942, and deliveries began in June. So that would be the earliest you'd see them around Leningrad, or anywhere else.

The problem with the offline campaign is that the appropriate DGen file covers whole 1942, and DGen doesn't "know" that the 190 should be used only later in the year, so they might appear very early in the year.

Big deal, on the Greatergreen server yesterday there were Bf 110s over Malta during the early days of the Malta campaign. And not a Fiat CR 42 or G 50 in sight...

Talk about non-historical.

This is unfortunately a very common problem with servers. Certainly not every server tries for a historically accurate planeset, and I'm not saying everyone should. That's up to them. But for the ones who try it, there's a good bit of research required to get it right, and it just isn't being done. The identification of FB aircraft by year only doesn't help much, and there are a few out there that didn't even get the right year. For the future, 1C might consider giving more precise times for aircraft. Maybe by quarters of the year, so those looking for proper match-ups will find them more often.

Couldn't agree more Stecher, but then you knew that already. I think the smurfs agree too, look how they are smiling.

I always hated those little blue bastards. They are small and they are blue, but they keep smiling. I guess that's what hanging around mushrooms all day will do for you.
