View Full Version : A funny idea...probably not possible

I was thinking it might be quite cool if there was a 'capture the flag' mode in il2/fb/aep. You could have a flag at low level at each base, which could be 'picked up' and then taken back to the opposing base. If the plane carrying the flag were destroyed, the flag would remain suspended in mid-air. If an ally picked it up, this would return it to their base...if an enemy, then they could carry it on taking back to their base. Obviously this would not be a game based on realism...but I think it might be fun...It would certainly encourage people to fly as a team. I know that IL2 is un-modifiable by eveyone except its creators...so this idea will never be made...but I thought I'd suggest it anyway to see if anyone else likes it!

Good luck - won't come...

Most players want more reality... the flag should fall to the ground ! http://members.home.nl/lil.labbit/smiley/rofl2.gif

You know, that is not a bad idea. I think something like this should be seriously looked at.

It would deffinatly add some new excitement.

Nice idea. But it would put the credibility of the series in a bad light.

How about a "capture the seagull"-mode. There is a seagull flying around at the map, all players try to catch it. When you fly into it, it sits on your windshield, and as long as you keep it you score points. Meanwhile, all the other players are chasing you, and when you get shot down or bail, the seagull flies away for other players to catch and score points.
How does that sound? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

>"Flatspin", what is that supposed to mean? This aircraft is entirely spin-proof!<

I thought about that too, cuz I really get a kick outta trying to land at the other team's base and then trying to take off again.

It really ticks em off.

Or land with the TB-3 and own the airfield.
