View Full Version : [BUG/ISSUE] Ultra Widescreen (5760x1080 res) not working after new patch

Heya

I used to play in 5760x1080 resolution, but after this patch, I can only play at 1920x1080. It still shows that I'm playing at 5760x1080 resolution, but two of the monitors will stay black as if I was playing at 1080p. If I change my resolution back to 1080p It will get completely grainy and pixelized. It seems like Nvidia Surround / Eyefinity doesn't work with this game anymore after the new patch.

Hi, I have the same issue. After the velvet Shell update, I now only get a 1280x1024 playable screen, even though the game states I'm playing in 3840x1024.

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit
AMD HD6950, running Catalyst 15.7.1 (latest & last drivers for 6900 series)

Same problem with my system, GTX970, intel i5-3570 3.4ghz, 16 GB, win10

No Nvidia surround, only one screen. I feel soooooo blind!!!!!! argggggg! :P

Same issue after latest patch. I play with 3 1280x1024 monitors in AMD Eyefinity for a total resolution of 3840x1024 and I have never had a problem up until now. The game only displays on the middle monitor and not all 3. I have messed around with the video setting and nothing seems to fix the issue. the game is unplayable this way.

I am running Fury x with catalyst control center 15.8 and with the crimson 16.5 driver and I have the same issue. In the settings it shows 5760x1080 but it is only showing on the middle screen. The other two are black, this is very disappointing it feels like I have tunnel vision now.

Same issue. NVidia SLI on triple monitors (5760 x 1080). Game only displays on middle monitor. Side monitors are black.

Please stop bumping my thread. While I know that you are just as annoyed by this as I am, you might get it unnecessarily locked, which would result in this thread getting buried. You can also get banned from posting entirely. I know that you just want it fixed and you're trying to help but please only post constructive answers and posts about experiencing the same problem, so they can see that a lot of people are affected by this, without getting the thread locked.

Its really frustrating been waiting for the update and get this primary programming error.

I have the same issue. Even though the resolution is messed up, it still shows the in-game benchmark in the upper left corner on one of the black monitors, as if I was running it in 5760x1080.

Yes i did, was not a simple thing, i opened 3 tickets till i get a clear answer, at least if team is knowing whats happening with eyefinity - surround users.

HA, try support, open a ticket and look what you get..... they are investigating and a possible solution will be posted in the forums. Sounds to me that we are lost.

Usually their live-chat support is really helpful and pushes bugs/problems directly to the development team. I've had contact via live chat once and it really payed of, much easier than the long ticket system which sometimes gets stuck and you'll never get any replies.

About the surround setup issues, I know they're working on it but I just thought I'd add my specs for them to add to the report:

Motherboard: Custom built (by Medion MS-7848)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 (unknown brand)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI Gaming version)
Game + Windows 10 installed on: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD

Similar to Vespura, I just figured I'd throw some more specs in here. Hope this gets fixed soon, its disappointing to see triple-wide broken as this was one of the few games with perfect out of the box support.

Same issue for me - benchmark runs in surround but game only on centre screen. Win 10 Home 64 bit, GTX 970

I doubt specs are much use for troubleshooting this issue however as both Nvidia and ATI users have reported this issue on several different cards.

The fact that the benchmark runs fine on 3 screens means surround is still functional - just not for the game itself. Bit of code left out or a small error in it somewhere.

Hopefully an easy fix and soon.

Well, at least it's to great comfort that they know about the issue. Knowing is half the battle. Nothing we can do now but help if they ask for more info or examples. They have also added it to the "Known issues" thread on reddit.

I have the same issue at a resolution of 5040x1050.
Both in AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA Surround mode.

Although still I count on the full functionality returns.
Otherwise I will not want to play anymore.

I posted on steam's forums about this, and I did go through a live chat myself.
Got all the same stuff from a different support rep-Roger W. Here's what he said:


it does appear to be after the most recent update, as I am seeing you are not the only one with this problem

alright so I am going to forward this up to your development team and have them look into the issue, keep checking forums in case users find a fix at the moment and to see if our developers post a fix on their as well

using only one monitor is the only option as of this moment unless you can find a fix on the forums



Running on a GTX 970, I5 6500, windows 10, 16 gigs of ram, and bezel-corrected 5940x1080.

Yea, it's fair to be annoyed- I am too- though calling Ubisoft lazy for not fixing the issue already isn't fair.
Graphical problems like this are deeply embedded into the game. It's such a fundamental thing that an incredibly wide variety of things could be causing it, and with the most recent update, so much has been changed that I would bet it's extremely difficult for them to find the issue, let alone patch it.

On top of that, there are other problems that have arisen from the most recent update that are more severe or are affecting a larger number of players. Because they are more of a problem, of course they are going to focus on them first. Their goal is to get the game working for as many players as possible ASAP, and if people can't even play the game, they need to work on that. Just because you can't play across 3 monitors doesn't mean that you can't play at all, so this would be a lower priority issue.

They also have responded to a few people. Support representatives have acknowledged the issue and have moved all of the information that they could onto the devs. It's now also on the list of known issues, and we will likely be discussed or fixed relatively soon.

Understandable point of view,
Its easy to see that they didnt test the game before release as it should.
I could think different if at least was just this issue i 've been getting.

3 displays problem
Disconnects in every match (most time in ranked matches)
AIM stuttering (Vsync issue)
Sort of friends cant join your group (all of the time, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes to make a 5 players group)
Uplay connection broken ( this is a lotery, can drop anytime)

Last night a friend was the last man standing on a ranked match and for some reason his character wasnt able to shot, aim, use gadgets, do nothing, just walk and die.
Their priority is just to answer those that having payment issues, its what i see on the board.
Maybe i dont have reason to call them lazy but at least they should test the game before release and try to dont let us see the situation as a commercial stuff.

I still waiting on fixes, its what i can do and thanks for your opinion ospreytoon2.

to fix goto options display and change the aspect ratio to 21:9.

My game was perfect as seen in the screen above after velvet of doom i hate this game and want my money back unless they fix it. The game is all super magnified?????? Complete refund or fix crap.

The Ubizzsoft should tell us at least when the fix incoming. Even editing gamesettings.ini the game cant accept a custom (desktop) Aspect Ratio. Forcing by the driver(Crimson) doesnt work either(Preserve Aspect Ratio) or (Full panel)
8 days since the velvet and just a known issue?...
I bet you guys this is related with "ALT+Enter" fix they did on the update.

Indeed... I wanted to play yesterday and had the same issue. I was hoping for a fix but it still doesn't work.


Kind of a bad move before the Ghost Recon release.

Where are you guys opening tickets? All I get is a list of FAQ and nowhere to open an actual ticket :(


so to make this clear: after the update (including today's update) I still have the same issue.

Eyefinity, Win10 Home 64 bit. 2x7970...

Pretty much all games work in eyefinity, including Ubi title The Division (though there is an update queued... hope that doesn't get messed up)

I just opened a ticket. There is a link to supported resolutions and now it reads 1080p.


I will be simply honest and say: at this moment, if a game doesn't support 3 monitors I simply don't buy it. I technically look at a game, see if WSGF has a solution or if it is native, and if the game doesn't support it I don't get it.

I don't want to play in tunnel vision, that's the truth. Once you start playing on 3 displays, you want to keep doing it.

Add trackir to it and gold.

Now I wish there was a game like a mix between the old GR and Arma III with a separate module for CQ (R6)) .... that's all I would play ....

But anyway ... I had casual fun in R6 and it is a shame that this is happening ... I am playing ubi games since GR 1 and RS .. not even sure what the first version was... I still have the CDs..

That said... I refuse to buy the new GR unless UBI fixes this ****. I don't want to end up with an other title that suddenly drops 3 monitor support ... nor do I have the time to fight Steam for a refund for all the games I don't like ...


Anyway ... rant over ... I would be happy if this gets fixed... if not ... then I save the $59 GR will cost ....

Running 980ti @ 6000x1200. Only 1 screen. Only response we got was not meant for triple screen? Seriously it apparently was meant before the patch. Someone there made it work. Hey UBI look through the patch and find out what killed surround.

I have noticed that when set to 6000x1200 the game does render at that i get around 25fps, but for some reason the side screens are black. When I set to 1920x1200 my frame rate goes to 60 to 70.

I don't like to go to a place and bash their devs... I am a dev myself (not game, and not web) ... It is not their job to hang around here. But their support is absolute c r a p... no answer whatsoever.


But let's face it.... people who liked tactical games.... plan the mission ... have 8+ AIs to control ..... the people who would sit in their dorky TRACKIR attached to their heads, have 3 monitors and a $150 keyboard .... it's not the companies' interest to support these....
They want to release something, have a million people buy it, then in 2 years release something, and have an other 1 million people buy it.

So you end up with devices without an earphone connector ... laptops with function keys removed, a tactical game that looks like a dressup party..... a COD that used to have technical elements, but now you have robot-suits jumping around in space....

I will .. just ... play .... ARMA .... and hope that something like SWAT ... or something that resembles the Athena Shield will suddenly appear with decent graphics ....

Again.. not a rant ... but I rather spend my money on a startup who still values their customer ... and no .. I am not some b i t c h i n g teenager ... I am 45 ... and I would appreciate to have 2-3 game nights a week when a game I bought would actually keep working ....

Just bought the game cause all Ubisoft games have good triple screen support, except this one now. Bought it right after patch and have it on hold now.

Don`t want to use it with a single screen. Thought i have seen a bug report where it was recognized by devs and they seem to work on it. Hopefully.

Just wondering why they just cut off the support when it was already related as a "known Issue" on 13/02. No words from anyone ubi, devs, it sounds like a lack of respect with their customers.
I found a fix with SOFTTH, btw the battleye wont let me run the game with a dll injection, it would interfere on rendering method.

Anyone knows if theres a way to hack these battleye just to let we change rendering method ?
If Ubi dont fix, lets try to fix by ourselves maybe!!!

As I previously stated and I know this is not what you want to hear but we are customer support do not have any resolutions nor will we get a resolution for this issue. This is a known bug that the devs are working to resolve and they have stated that all who have this issue should be directed to the forums as that is where the updates will be listed. The whole scene is definitely rendered underneath the black "blinds". The framerate is unchanged, only the FOV is.

I suspect the problem was caused by the devs trying a little too hard to support 2560x1080 21:9 officially.

Can you see the thin blacks bars on the sides ? That's because 3440x1440 is a bit wider than 2560x1080 (not the same aspect ratio).

The ironic thing is, 21:9 Ultrawide was perfectly supported before Velvet Shell... ditto for Eyefinity/Surround. *sobs*

yes, i dont know what to do anymore. They could at least rewrite the render DLL's and the exe file. Seems that they dont know what to do or dont want to do . Kinda wierd

I tried the game downloaded from a torrent site, and after playing it for 20min I decided to buy it and what a great surprise when I see only middle screen working lol

This is so disappointing. Even in Borderless mode all I get is a black screen when entering menus or inventory.

Probably when we leave the game they think about it, going to 3rd month without a reasonable answer from ubisoft, the service from the support is so poor that almost makes me cry.
They at least should told us why, if its related with the competitive scheme of the game or if its just bugged and they think in fix the issue.

This kind of attitude just sell more and more BF1's outside,

Dont wait to get some sort of respect from this company because you never gonna get it !!!

if we are talking about advantage, what about who have a better hardware, better connection, better ISP, better VGA, this is insane, the advantage is a little more then a 21:9.

The truth is that the devs are stupid, they dont even tell us why, the support from ubisoft is ridiculous. This is why i'll never buy an ubisfot product again.

This is one of the few games that does not work with my gaming set up. @Ubisoft please patch the game - this is a simple fix.

You mean in a mission ? That's weird. For me (Nvidia Surround on a Titan Xp) it just works: in Fullscreen or Borderless, with aspect ratio Auto or Resolution, in Situations and TH, it's definitely fixed.
