Hi!

I'm sorry if this question was already addressed, however I was not able to find the answer to it... I was wondering if I will be able to play AC2 using a PS4 dual shock 4 controller.

I know that Xbox 360 works, but I'm more into the PS4... somehow it fits me better.

I created a ticket to customer support but nobody answered so far... :(

Thank you!! I appreciate any help on this matter!

I don't know specifically about AC2 because I never use a controller but other ac games my son has a cheap controller and uses MOTIONINJOY which is free (google it) and works for even cheap generic controllers on most games.

Hello and welcome to the Forums,

For AC2, the System Requirements (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/000012759/Minimum-Requirements-for-Assassin-s-Creed-2-PC-AC2/) show:

Peripherals Supported: Windows-compliant keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)

It was released before PS4's were born so this is probably why you're not seeing it. Other controllers may work but aren't supported. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Thank you for your answers. :)

I am aware of the supported peripherals written on the PC requirements, however I've read on some forum that a person was able to play AC2 using a PS4 controller and I was wondering if someone else was able to.

I already bought the game and would have liked to buy a PS4 controller but I am not sure if it will work therefore I need to know if anyone has tried that.

As Black_Widow9 pointed out, the game was made before the Ps4 controller came out

I would say that unless any game had a patch specifically made when new equipment is released, it couldn't support it without some 3rd party software (Unless the people who make the controller make them compatible with older games) but I have seen a program that can be bought ( full version) or can be downloaded free... (limited version) that claims to run the PS4 controller with all pc games and it's called pinnacle gaming profiler I believe the game profiles are free... you should google it and once certain, you can then buy your controller.

These articles all suggest different software that should make the controller work with older pc games. Hopefully AC 2 as well. :p
