Dear Sir.

I have found a modeller who may be interested in constructing a scale model of the Westland Whirlwind Fighter, to the required IL-2 Specification's for it's inclusion into your wonderful Sim...But before I give him the green light, I need to know from your good self weather there is still time enough for a new A/C at this stage of the sims shelve life? As I would not like to see that amount of work come to naught!

Regards

No offense intended, but wasn't the Whirlwind horribly underpowered, and almost useless except for limited Rhubarbs?

Damn shame, she looked like a real thouroughbred. Too bad they didn't give her decent engines.

Hmmm... Well according to the chaps over at NetWings the window for acceptance of 'New' A/C into the sim is growing very narrow now - General concensus is Models need to be finished by late August!

With this in mind I relly need to know if the Whirly if finished by then would still be able to be allowed in game? So, does anyone know Oleg's email addy?

Also, were looking at around 1000-1500 for someone to complete a full flying repro of the Whirly ready for IL-2 FB

But before I start the ball rolling I need an official conformation that there are at least a further two month's left...

I would fly it, its more interesting than the usaul Spit, P 51, p47, 109 blah blah blah. Come on folks lats have some support for these unusual types. Il 2 FB will probably be the only time in our lives we will ever get to fly anying other than the types I mentioned above.
