I kind of assumed it was Warren Vidic at the time, but Otso Berg makes the most sense to me now. Especially if it's supposed to be the same guy who visited Daniel's grave, since Vidic would have been dead and buried right along with him.

As for Aiden Pearce, I think they're done with the AC/WD crossovers. I'm pretty sure it was never meant to be more than a little wink at the fans in the first game. Plus, now Ubisoft San Francisco is a canonical thing in WD, and Abstergo Entertainment is supposed to be the one making AC games within the AC-verse, so the whole thing is muddled even further.

Its a mystery still for sure. What always confused me was whomever it was is clearly holding a Piece of Eden. Vidic and Berg both would have had access to them, but neither came across to me as sentimental types. Vidic of course was dead so it couldn't be him at Daniel's grave either. If I had to guess, it is someone new - hence Aymar's comments. It may even be someone wielding the Ankh, who might have been trying to raise both. As such, whomever this is may well show up in Empire.

Is it a PoE, though? It looks like something palm-sized that emits a blue light, which could just as easily be a cellphone screen.

I reckon it was just a random person playing Pokémon Go, and he'd just picked up an Eevee and a Squirtle.
