Just a side note:

I noticed that the sub travels pretty quick! Now it feels that it is travelling alot faster than what would be realistic?

Is there any possibility to really get realistic speed of the boat when the game releases?

..tehre is always something, isnt it? lol :-)

I believe that the I can sum it with "Art in motion" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The atmosphere is electrifying and I am sure that for the first week I will be sailing around like a tourist.

The world is ALIVE with other activities.

The boat is ALIVE with crew, was it really me that said I did not need 'crew' on my boat?

Cheers,

Verdict: ( all done IMHO )
Overall Graphics...Best yet, no PC games outfit has ever created such beautiful graphics for a PC game like this. I will spend hours just cruising on the conning tower like I did in SH1 but this time it will be more enjoyable...sea-sick tablet have already been ordered online http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Score=100% http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Sound effects...The ocean and engine sounds are really very nice as is the Thunder. The footsteps of the crew as they get back inside the sub howerver sounds like someone strumming their fingers on a table top !
Score=95%

Atmospherics...As stated by others and agreed, awesome! the feelings I had whilst watching that " movie" were quite awe inspiring and the 'feeling of being there' is captured to a tee. The WWII atmoshpere is fantastic and for us who never experienced it in real life ,well this HAS to be the next best thing. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/sonar.gif
Score 100%+

General Appraisal...Well done Devteam for creating such wonders with your very very clever programming. SH3 will stand head and shoulders above any other PC game and will set the benchmark for them all as you tower over them. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif
Score 99.5%

Very well done..I'm impressed..or could you not tell http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Words just can not describe the feeling those ingame movies provoke. Almost brought tears to my eyes...

How can one continue using SH1/2 with these truely magnificent imagines!?
This really is shaping up to, once and for all, concine CAOD to a honourary sea burial.

As a person who persistantly lives for the here and now, taking each day as it comes. Iam finding myself wishing 2005 was already upon us.

Spendid work so far...

I like the hanging sausages, bananas, etc most. I think it was even suggested here or in the German Forum few months ago. I only wonder whether they will disappear during a mission.

This shows how much the devteam is committed to the subject.

Keep up the very, very good work.

Unless of course the 'hungry patch' appears soon after in which case the sides of beef soon dissapear and then the sausages go for a burton.

I have just watched both the weather clip and the shaky clip.
http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif
Fantastic Brilliant I truly take a bow at this craftmanship. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The scematic Map of the sub is superbly detailed. The deck gun looks as though it can be a very tactical tool. I will dread a plane attacking me so I am sure I will always man AA guns. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

I will by two copies just to show my appreciation to the dev team http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif. I suggets that we all find out ubi cust service address and formaly write to congrate their game, patience and the Dev team for their extremly detailed work. Just think they have a superb product as it is and are still working on improving it for us die harders.

The potential for more games to be built in that ocean environmet is more than cool. I hope we have an easy scenario builder. And it would be great if the novice modders get a great modding tool http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/351.gif.

The screen shots are great. The clips are great. The wallpapers are great.

What is missing?

Sub damage video or screenshots is what I want to see.
I want to know what I can be telling my freinds in multiplayer. Especially in sub v sub mode. Things like
1. My crew are panicking and being irrational, screams. Think das boot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif.
2. Pipes are bursting http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif.
3. 3 crew have just been crushed in engine room.
4. Reached crush level.
5. Etc etc and whatever other people think about.

Oh one more thing, please please please dont let the game footage end just because we have died. Theres nothing worse than that when playing sh2. You seem to grow attached to your boat and kinda wonna watch her go down in all her glory.

Make modding drivable allied subs easy so we dont have to wait years.

Money earner = have Japanese fleet and american sub as an expansion. It would be better if you guys did it. Same for brit subs, italian etc. Their should not be too much coding.

I have rambled on and on because I want this game.

Now that I have seriously kissed *** can I be on the beta tester list. I know atmosphere and can suggets loads.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif Weather effects are awesome! Great Job Devs! I am really impressed. I'll be buying at least 4 copies just so I can run a 4-person LAN game at home!

I would like to see ASWAD (FPS) player movement inside the sub. I know this is still being decided upon as mentioned in the last chat. Just wanted to add my vote for ASWAD movement. (Noticed several fixed view-points still in video)

Keep up the great work!

Peace,

But did anyone realise that the food isnt moving with the sway of the boat?
It's jigling about but acts as if suspended by wires.
Just an observation.

Has anyone seen the other footage available from the link.

It shows a sinking of an aircraft carrier aswell as some other neat stuff. You can hear the dev team discussing some issues.

One small thing though. The aircraft carrier went down like a tonne of bricks aswell and if you listen carefully I think is the way it is supposed to go.

What happened to the armour belts etc. Surely not that fast with one torp.

Please Please Please let this be a mickey mouse setting that is adjustable or at least simply moddable.

Apart from that concern It looks most promising

SailorSteve

Yes, we've all seen that video. There is one thread devoted just to the quick-sinking question, and several more discussions of it in other threads.

Not much different here......I give all the praise and more to the dev team for the best looking open water effects ever seen! A+ to you programming team...and as a novice programmer myself....all I can say is "Can I just come and help with the team for free so I can learn!!!!". One question....if you choose to strike during the/a storm, will the weather affect your as well as opposing ships? Will destroyers have a harder time getting a bead on you? Will your torpedos veer off course more easily? Again. Great job! Cant wait to pick this game up>.....

I very much like the idea of co-op play. Both IL2 and Operation Flashpoint have it and it's a lot of fun with a few trusted friends.

Drooling here. Hoping the saliva will hold out.

I am not a youngster anymore and I wonder why people at the age of 50 (not that I am 50) do not play computer games.
Maybe because when they grew up there were no sucha things as a computer games. This is fine with me, but if there is an age bug that bites you after certain age.....PLEEEEAAAASSSEEEE don` let me grow up!

No worries, just cryogenically freeze yourself and have your family 'melt' you every time a new SH game comes out. This way, you can enjoy SHXXXIV no problems...
