Yes..... at least the 30mm gun is fixed.
I tried single bops with the cannon only with the Bf109 G14 against P51d

Of 40 sorties against a p51 in qmb the p51 went down 26 times after one round = one hit and on different ranges. a few times it went down with a single bop from about 400m (or close to that) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif
some of the rounds was double = its difficult to get only one shell (all the time)
--------------------------------

The p38 needs 2 shells but can take 3-4. Like the p51 the engine can be taken out and set to fire with one bop. Its possible to cut off a fuselage in one bop.

---------------------------------

The P47 can take up to five sometimes even 6 shells but can be severly damaged with one only. But often can take 3 bops and stay flying (if u call that flying). It is harder to set fire to but it can happen.

-----------------------------------

Its silly to do single bops against a B17 so I shot halfsecond bursts with cannon and It can go down after one burst in one pass, but more often u need at least 2 passes.

OK I admit I'm happy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif

hope u are happy too.

Awesome http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I can remember putting multipul 30mm rounds into yaks and LA's only for them to keep flying.

About time ! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif

He he......yes time nowadays seems to be available to me. Seriously and sadly I'm unable to work anymore due to my malfunctioning machine (read body). Sometimes even the harddrive (read brain) hangs up and I,m not able to do the simplest tasks....no more mathproblems for me... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif
FB is kind of a trainingprogram for me where I solve calculationproblems in a playful way.....heck I can even compete with some of the best at this some days...(comforting actually).

Well....anyway...the sorties only took 1 or 2 minutes eachin QMB...and I was anyway testing my Bouncing tecnique for my posts....so it really didnt take long.

BTW...I noticed that if u hit the engine its a gonner......most of the single bops that hit the engine made it stop and burst into flames.

Hi,

I totally agree with ob_swe's findings.

1-2 hits to take down a P51D; usually the second hit is enough to detonate the aircraft.

5-6 hits for P47s.

About 2-3 hits for P38s.

cheers,
norris
