...an inter-war flight sim?

I mean, the FB engine is far from dead. I think a flight sim that features fighters from the '20s and '30s would go over well. There could be all sorts of fictional scenerios.

Just for fun, you know.

That'd be great. A lot of crap plane fans like myself would be in heaven if such a sim were done.

Let us finish this one first http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'm not even thinking of anything beyond today right now.

But to be honest with you, a 20s-30s project doesn't appeal to me that much. Maybe a 1946 war between USSR and USA, that's a hypothetical scenario I could be excited about.

Oh gees. Who exactly is going to fly a prototype Japanese aircraft in a US vs Russia scenario? Most importantly, just who exactly would finish flight testing it and then manufacture it?

I have a friend that is working on a BattleField 1942 add-on that is post-war USA vs. USSR.

I think its freeware too.

It doesn't have to be ficticious:

How about the Spanish Civil War?

Or Nomonhan / Khalkhin-Gol incident?

IIRC some guys in Russia have licenced Oleg's map-making software and are working on a free add-on of Nomonhan/Khalkhin-Gol.

Technically, it's where the Pacific war should start, as that's where the Japanese first started.

And 1930s China vs Japan too, where Chennault saw his early experience that later made him Famous, when he first saw hidden weakness in the Japanese.

Indeed, a combined Spain and China sim, possibly combined with 1939 Poland, would involve aircraft designing
Nation on Earth.

USA, Brit, USSR, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Poland, etc... endless list.

Chinese used German He~111.

In Flying Tigers by Daniel Ford, Chennault stated the Japanese had a fighter that was extremely maneuverable and "climbed like a squirell" referring to the Ki-27. At the time the Army did not take him seriously....

No, Luthier needs to do 1946 - 1960 flight sim

Korea just small part of the sim.

Hawker Hunter, Folland Gnat, Mystere, Canberra, etc...endless list

--- anything that would be total CRAP plane in LOMAC http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

To be absolutely brutally honest with you guys, a plane without a prop just does nothing for me. Jet sims were always a "meh" to me.

OK, I agree, no planes with "the hole", but a Spanish civil war would be interesting... spanish, italian, german, french, american, russian and so on...
And how about a new WW One sim?

To give you a NZ quote:

Good on ya' mate! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

FWIW IIRC Russia & Japan never signed a peace treaty at the end of the war, Technically they are still at war. (I recall it got mentioned last year so maybe they recently packed it in).

I like the SCW idea, but not as much as the Med. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

But let's let luthier get PF done first. He brings the Corsair to us, I'm happy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
