what's the rationale for having no padlock setting in some servers but then allowing no cockpit also? You can't radar-locate using padlock but then you get the blue and red arrows on the no-cockpit view. what's the point?

If I remember correctly you can use external padlock even when padlock is disabled.

I think some people just get a kick out of weird settings. Twice I have stumbled into a server with external=on, Icons=off, and both sides have same planetypes available. I never really used external views, so I have no clue how you were supposed to IFF, but I guess they have their ways.

Howabout these settings:

no cockpit, padlock off, externals on, icons off, speedbar off. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

What's even worse then is when the planeset includes all the planes for both sides.
All you see then is the boring latewar uberrides. And you're forced to use external views to IFF. No speedbar but you can use the no cockpit gauges. LOL http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif
