Can the rear gunner be used the same way as in multi gunport bombers?

I believe so. I've done it in the IL2, stands to reason the Stuka will be the same.

Yes. I sometimes fly missions as rear-gunner for a laugh. The laugh being that the pilot doesn't tell you what he's doing, or even if the plane's doomed and he'd like to bail out!
It's good fun in co-ops as gunner, esp. if you have voice comms with your pilot.
My only gripe is that the Ju87D rear window is nearly impossible to see out of: the exterior and interior models are not the same and the glass is filthy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Actually seeing an enemy a/c is a challenge.
Cheers!

Yep..

One of my favorite missions was where I screwed up a ground attack (in the stuka) and crashed, landing upsidedown near the road. I switched to the rear gunner, and while upside down managed to take out 6 vechicles in the convoy before Ammo ran out!

I did that in the IL-2 once. Pulled out too late, but was real lucky as I pulled out exactly on the ground. Skidded to a stop, switched to rear gunner (after shaking my head) and took out some motorcycles which were quite far off.

Perhaps it's good tactics to land, taxi behind a building and ambush the convoy with your gunner? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
