i can't seem to go past the orphans without them running around me making their annoying sounds messing up what i'm trying to do.
even today in new york i finished buying items in a general store and they came out of no where and i pushed them aside and nearby british soldiers saw what i did and started shooting at me.

I think you answered your own question; they are just doing their job, which is to combine the worst aspects of beggars, lunatics, and minstrels from the earlier games.

Did you try bribing them?

God, why? I had almost forgotten them, why must you bring up painful memories?

Was the most annoying part of the game to me as well :D I love children in general. But AC3 children are creepy to the core.

I don't find them creepy. Just a bit anoying. Most of the time I just run past them, but in the very first mission we do in New York, at the end of the mission (it's a taling/eavesdroping mission), they often make me spoted while I have to follow the 2 guys in their zone to listen. Apart from that mission they are like any other citizen, to me. ^-^

At least they are not "AC I beggars" levels of annoyance. The voice of that lady screaming "just a few coins PLEASE" will hunt me until the very last of my days.

I completely forgot about this and I can't stop laughing right now!
