Normally by this time of year there are some great screenshots posted on the forum. As there was no AC game last November.... how about some screenshots of whatever ac game you are currently playing.... try to find a good/ unusual place or a great scene or sunset..... but if you are creative... why not show a drawing... I'm very bad at art but I'm going to cheat and try and do something in photoshop, (once my pc is repaired and returned, hopefully this weekend )

Even now I cannot believe just how great Assassin's creed 3 looks. The level off detail in the clothing is brilliant.

@Vinu I was going through your collection and I came across the Apache Revolver :) very nice, I'd forgotten about it totally. A gun that is also a knife AND the handle is a set of brass knuckles, a very lethal multi-weapon :)

@LasseThid When I look at Unity and Syndicate I think AC has come a long long way and then I see screenshots like this and it reminds me that it is not that far... the early AC games had ornate outfits with lots of detail and the cities were perfect. I really miss the crossbow ( I usually missed with the crossbow :) ) it was a great silent ranged weapon. Arno's Phantom blade was equally as deadly but I always liked the crossbow better.

Did You see Strigoi1958 it came true in Ac game in Assassin's creed Syndicate DLC that is Jack the ripper it was there. Thanks Ubi for considering the request.I understand that U missed the crossbow but we got awsome stealth weapons like sleep darts and berserk darts which are also stealth weapons I agree it sleep dart will not kill the enemy person but we can when they fall asleep.I also love crossbow also the pouch type small medium and large. wow awsome

I've seen people asking for remastered versions of Ezio's games but looking at these pictures I have to ask myself why?

Looking at the detail in the clothing, the grain in the wood, the worn stones in the streets and the buildings... it still is really good to look at. :)

Now you've made me want to replay Ezio :)

I don't know if those pictures got a finishing touch - to me it looks like that and I myself tend to change brightness and contrast of screenshots slightly or alter saturation to make them look "better". A scenery looks different when one is in game and can look around - one can see all the lighting in it's different shades all around, but in a fixed screenshot it might be necessary to slightly alter brightness and contrast, to give the same expression as ingame - at least this is how I feel - but I agree, it does not require a remaster, most of the ingame graphics are still awesome.

AC3 for example looks in some places a bit "washed out" and in others oversaturated and so a change in saturation and adjusting brightness and contrast accordingly can actually make it better for a screenshot - ingame it is ok as it is, just in screenshots it might require a finishing touch.

@Lysette88 You seem to have an eye for a setting. Some people are so lucky, they see the moment. The moment when colours are just right or when some things are just in the right place or when some thing is not right.... but it is still perfect. The Autumn leaves do make a perfect setting for that particular outfit with its orange/ brown/ red colours.

Is it just me, or does Jacob always look troubled when he's not smiling?

The first picture I took because of the stained walls on the left, when I used to walk along the side of the Thames, it looked just like that... I think it must be from soot in the rain... I also like all the posters and advertisement boards. :)
The last picture where Evie is hanging on the statue... the level of distress and decay and staining of the wood on the building on the right, and the statue itself, is perfect.

Definitely at points in both games they really look amazing. I think sometimes when the colours are more vivid it makes the game seem better graphically, although the colour of the Thames river and the dirty brickwork really reminds me of my time living in London.

Wow.... That's fantastic. the shading really adds depth, definition and contour. I am so envious... I see people grab a pencil and start drawing/ doodling and after an hour they have something wonderful... while I have a few matchstick men and a lot of screwed up failed attempts... I love it when I see other people's art, and THAT is art. :)

Credit where credit is due... that picture is transformed from 2d to 3d by the shading. It is something that many people never master, it amazes me that by adding different amounts of shading can create shape, forms and even texture or material. When done as well as this, it is really nice to see. She looks like she's out for revenge and can handle herself in combat.... I've seen tattoos that are nowhere near as good... Have you ever considered being a tattooist?

No, actually, though you are not the first to ask me this. But I am better at copying pictures than coming up with new ones, the latter being an important part of the job, I guess.

Did I kill this thread? No one is posting new pictures anymore.

strigoi1958
01-25-2017, 04:47 AM
No you haven't killed the thread, most long term pc forum members go to the console section as it is livelier and a lot of new pc posts are just minor problems that seem to repeat regularly.

Even so, I couldn't achieve anything like that even if I traced it :).

Art whether original or following inspiration, still needs good hand/ eye co-ordination, a sense of proportion, patience (looking at the edges of the material it must have taken hours to create this picture), knowing how to create depth and knowing when something is right. All artists "copy" when a painter paints a landscape they are copying nature, it doesn't matter if they are painting what they see from life or from a photograph or from a sketch (either theirs or someone elses sketch).

You are a good artist. Regardless of whether it is original or not. :)

I tend to take my time actually walking around in London, enjoy the scenery, listen to NPCs talking to each other, pay attention to all the many music groups, which play in the many smaller parks in London (Ubisoft put really a high variety of songs into the game in those locations, which are not part of the soundtrack unfortunately) - I am just not the typical AC player, much more of a time traveling tourist in a way - even with London it is special, because I firstly lived for a year in London (actually in Camden, north of Piccadilly Circus and Soho) and secondly because London has been my favorite Metropolis even before that time, when I was still just a tourist. So to me to walk through Ubisoft's version of victorian London is very special and I really take my time.

IMO Jacob looks troubled because he always looks downwards - and so we interpret this body language of him as being troubled or worried - it is just his posture and gestures which make that.

@legendVinu it is a screenshot from PC - I had cut it out from the screenshot, scaled it (so it might not be that detailed, but this is not due to the game, but due to me having scaled it). I wanted to catch the nice lighting and the autumn leaves and so I just jumped on the next roof top of a building which wasn't that tall and took the screenshot before the moment would've been gone.

Those pictures clearly show the excellent quality of the texture and modelling work Ubisoft has provided with Syndicate. And like I said, it is not just the graphics, which are excellent and highly detailed, it is as well the many details they put into the overall scenery, like music groups in parks, conversations between random NPCs, the detailed architecture, the excellent dynamic model of the Thames river waters, their color-scheme and interaction with boats and floating stuff in the river. The closer one looks the more detail there is - it is truely a piece of art and a masterpiece - even not many might really appreciate the work put into it - not in that detail in which it is presented - too many rush through the game without to even recognize most of the detail.

strigoi1958

I'm glad you mentioned the music and NPC conversations. :)

I always think the sound team are not acknowledge enough. It's not just the action sounds but all the ambient sounds and background noises that most people do not notice because it has immersed them into the game. The sounds of footsteps changing on different surfaces, birds and animal sounds, NPC's, Music that reflects the moment, the weather sounds, the water noises, insects (crickets chirping), transport sounds, ships, trains, horse drawn carriages, horses, mechanical sounds, steam from broken pipes, the haystack sounds..... I think it is because all these details are done so perfectly that we do not notice them,

A brilliant team doing a great job that so few ever take time to appreciate.

Lysette88

I recognize those things - like I said, I am more of a time traveling tourist than a typical AC player. For example I walked along the Thames river promenade on the Westminster side - and I hear "air on a g string" from Beethoven, but not on strings, but a brass group is playing it. This is rare, so I looked from where the sound is coming - and really, there was a group of 5, all brass instruments, playing Beethoven's "air on a g string". I listened for a while, if they will play something else, but that is the only piece they played unfortunately.

Something like that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1Pq2zBvOaI - I actually like the brass version better than the string version.

Well, it isn't directly related to Syndicate, but this came to mind, when I heard it again - human voice as the leading instrument to "air on a g string" - Bobby McFerrin - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slUW5IBVo_8 - a lot just know him from "don't worry by happy", but he is actually doing a lot of classical stuff with his voice as well.

same song, but the location is different - mine was at the river promenade somewhere and not in a gacebo like in that video. I don't know why these songs are not part of the official sound track.

Awesome video - I have to bookmark that one. It's an incredibly beautiful and so detailed game, by far my favorite in the AC series. And the street surface, this is what is so awesome as well, it looks so real, with all its flaws and the water puddles after it rained and so on - the whole scenery is just amazing.

Sure, I just played AC games again. I'll post my screens here too. XD

Some Screens:
All from Unity, all from the central district where Notre Dame is:
Not the best shots from the entire game but Unity is sprawling, taking the best shots from the best regions from the optimal angles would be a massive undertaking:
