Well my French is not good. See what you make of this....

http://www.checksix-forums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42474&st=0&#entry426156

For an IJ officianado like me it looks disappointing indeed. Very Very skinny on Japanese aircraft http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif. Looks a bit like Pacific Fighters=US Fighters.

Yea! More fihgters! Just what we don't need! Look, if this is a PTO game we need flyable dive bombers! Those are the most important AC in the game! We need all the major dive bombers and TP bombers for Japan, and from the US.

I said in the past that the dangerous on an unbalanced game is real... Not only the American plane list is double than the japanese one, but in the japanese list are absent important aircraft as the A6M5 Zero or the Ki-84... and I don' t talk about the fact that Ki- 43 II and D3A2 are only AI when their precedent version are flyable...Moreover I see that torpedo bomber are only AI (so we can' t fly torpedo bomber mission) and that japanese jeep carriers are not modeled http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif. However I hope that it' s only an unofficial list and so this considerations will be groundless.

thats sad http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif almost no japanese fighter, and we already have the zero and the ki-84 so the new planes are just ki-43,the floatplane(zero) and a ki-61,so are their any plans to make the J2M Raiden and the N1K1J George flyable, and most important where is the ki-100,the japanese answer to the la-7 and p-51.

the list contents "only" the NEW stuff from PF.
already existing planes from AEP are not mentioned .

the A6M2 21 is named because this will have folding wingtips - that the AEP A6M2 not has , so its an A6M2 Model 11 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

AND , pls keep in mind the plane list of the first IL2 release , and how it looks now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
be patient - i think a lot of stuff will come with updates !

nothing a surprise here. But still if this hold just 50%, our timeline campaigns will be werry onesided. And yes...updates are great, the problem is just that if you fly timeline campaigns it realy sucks waiting on that plane that could do a difference, even in AEP the German side still got that prob with the HS-129

But again alot of 3rd party plane makers, modeling allied planes, i cant do it so i should just be happy that they make 10 planes that can shot my good old A6M down, atleast it will not be a single type of plane ripping me apart....always look at the bride side http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

no matter what it will be great to be back in the pacific, and i can just change to the allied side...

Hi all..

About the famous list..

We have put on this list, with the précision it's not représentative of final list.. Some guy take it for gold.. they are too impatient.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

We have agreement of UBISOFT to give info about PF trough all way preview, screens and video..
We just note : We Are working on preview code given by ubisoft, it's not a complete nor definitive code.. but contain enough to begin preview.

Can take a look at
PREVIEW and VIDEO OF PF (http://www.france-simulation.com)

There are already 2 A6Ms, including the A6M5 in AEP. They WILL be in PF, certainly. Along with the THREE Ki-84s already in the game (all 5 of the AEP Japanese planes are flyable).

The planes that I wish I was seeing are some of the bombers like the Helen, Nell and Sally. Also, remember to trim the Allied plane list down to types without variants (I did count the Rufe cause it is very different by being a flyable floatplane) to really compare. There are still more Allied than Japanese planes by almost a factor of 2 though.

Japan
1. Aichi D3A1 "Val"
2. Kawanishi H8K "Emily" AI
3. Kawanishi N1K1J "George" AI
4. KAWASAKI KI61 "Tony "
5. Mitsubishi A6M Zero "Zeke"
6. Nakajima A6M2-N "Rufe"
7. Mitsubishi J2M Raiden "Jack" AI
8. Mitsubishi G4M1 "Betty"
9. Mitsubishi Ki 46 III "Dinah" AI
10. Nakajima B5N "Kate" AI
11. Nakajima Ki43 "Oscar"
12. Nakajima Ki-84 II Hayate "Frank" (AEP)
13. Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka AI
14. Tabby (C-47 built under license)
(24 with variants)

Allied
1. Brewster F2B/B-239 Buffalo (FB)
2. Bristol Beaufighter
3. Bell P-39/P-400 Airacobra
4. Boeing B17 Flying Fortress AI
5. Boeing B29 Superfortress AI
6. Consolidated B24 Liberator AI
7. Curtiss P-36 Hawk (AEP)
8. Curtiss P40
9. Curtiss SB2C Helldiver AI
10. Douglas TBD Devastator AI
11. Douglas SBD Dauntless
12. Douglas A20 Havoc
13. Grumman F4F Wildcat
14. Grumman F6F Hellcat
15. Gruman TBM/F Avenger
16. Hawker Hurricane (FB)
17. Lockheed P-38 Lightning (AEP)
18. North American B-25/PBJ Mitchell
19. North American P-51 Mustang (AEP)
20. Northrop P61 Black Widow AI
21. Republic P-47D Thunderbolt (AEP)
22. Supermarine Seafire
23. Vought F4U1 Corsair
24. Douglas C-47
25. Consolidated PBY
(35 with variants)

this list is not ours. One of our readers just reported a list provided by France simulation, which is not correct because based on a very old beta.

Still no mention of a Judy or Jill. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anyone notice that ship list also? Here are the carriers.

Allies:
Illustrious
Yorktown
Essex
Lexington
unspecified CVE

IJN:
Akagi
Kaga
Zuikaku
Shinano

The allied ones are what we expected, but the IJN... I don't know, but I would chosen Hiryu or Soryu instead of Shinano.

The list of other warships was a little shorter that I would have liked also. No Iowa or Yamato!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

That 'list' is about as accurate as a preschooler with a slide rule.

Note that all I did was edit the france-simulation list and add the Il-2/FB/AEP planes in. It's interesting to note that the total planes on that (edited) list is 58 with variants, so even a few more would add loads of planes NOT on that list---particularly Japanese planes since most of the Allied big-players are on that list.

I'm stoked.

Exactly. It's official there will be more than 40 new flyables. That list shows 31, if I am correct.

This seems to me to be a beautiful bit of guerilla marketing on the part of UBI - I mean, take this forum for another example

UBI Marketing Guy 1 "Hey, I've got an idea - we'll set up a Pacific Fighters website, but we won't put any information on it, just link it to a Forum. Then, we'll leak all kinds of shadowy information through different channels, and watch the community go nuts arguing about what features there will and won't be, and whether that blurry image of a Brewster is actuall the Finnish one redone with a RAF skin. By the time the game actually launches, they'll all be so wound up that the decision to purchase will have been taken months ago"

UBI Marketing Guy 2 "Brilliant"

I know it has worked with me

You've really got to wonder about Ubi. Surely nothing gets people interested like a tasty plane list. The number of repeat posts on the subject is proof enough. So why the secrecy? Are they scared that Microsoft will use the information to beat them to it? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

It is based not on a very old beta, it is based on initial proposals for the product, almost one year old http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. We have already some maps, planes and ships not in the list, and we won't have some from the list in the release. If things will go as they usually do, we may end up with more objects and units that are listed here.

What gets people interested more is stringing them along and not revealing the full plane list. Hence we see all these posts pondering what planes will be in. More information doesn't automatically mean more interest. The absence of info can get people even more intrigued at times.

I sincerely hope that the final list includes torpedo bombers and more japaneese aircraft (alot more) because if it doesn't then I will almost certainly not buy PF. According to that list, it is nearly every american plane built during WW2 vs practically nothing (that's flyable atleast).
