Hey guys,

Since a few of you were nice enough to look at my last round of custom cockpit pics I thought you might want to see how I had to change something. In order to have my joystick in the middle again (which I prefer) for fighters, I had to make the Yoke removable. In just a few seconds I can swap out the stick for the Yoke. It's not ideal, but somewhat practical.

Nice work on that removable bar for the yoke. I also prefer a center stick most of the time also. I do use it on the side for when I'm just cruising, I can relax better in the chair that way.

Look's awesome! I really need to build me something like that, so I can finally have my stick in the middle too. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So you going to use that wheel for the P-38 when its comes to FB, cause I would, more realistic that way.

Jealous doesn't even begin to describe it....

Quick question. I've always fancied a home-pit complete with HOTAS but the way you've set it up makes me wonder. Your throttle seems a lot higher than i imagine i'd have it. My fantasy setup would have it closer to leg-level than yours. Doesn't your arm ache after a while with it being so high ?

Yes, brilliant! And we are still jealous..lol.

I got this idea of putting my stick on the floor and extending it. Anyone tried this yet? Be cool to see a pic..

One day, I mean maybe some day..We'll just stick something to the side of our head...And we'll be in there... I'd head straight for the officer's lounge and tie a couple on every night after the war... What was that movie? Dream Scape or something? Or cant forget the Matrix...

But still, BV, I need to get caught up... Maybe when the baby comes she'll relax and I can get to work on the Burnin-ator Cockpit, eh? Or am I thinking in the wrong direction? Veteran husbands can fill me in...

Hey guys,

To answer your questions. The Throttle is a bit higher than normal, but I experience no cramping or problems. It's not really that high up. I do have a plan to lower it, but it's not crucial at this point. I'll take some pics of me sitting in it to show you. The price of it is hard to actually measure (I didn't keep receipts). All told after a year of building and tinkering it is somewhere in the hundereds. I built a lot of it by trial and error based on a simple sketch. I made many mistakes and had to rebuild some parts so the cost went up. I tried an extended stick in the beginning, but I found it to be a handicap. Look at my cockpit page at pics 8,11,12,15,16 and 17. http://777AVG.com/cockpit

I hope to make this cockpit available to others. Either by selling a lighter, slightly smaller version or just selling the plans or both.

That's really impressive,Burnin. I'd love to do something like that, but it seems only practical if you plan to do nothing but play flight sims, otherwise that stuff just looks like it'd get in the way. Regardless, I probably couldn't afford to do that anyway.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I was looking for the hydraulic pistons. Where are the hydraulics?!

BTW, cool rig, albeit a bit spartan-looking.
