Don't know about you, but I would love to see Jorge Alsina's and Joe Amodea's RAAF expansion pack, that was originally produced for CFS2, campaign redone in PF http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

All the best, Don

Here here...I agree. I played a little Janes back then, but my second flight sim was CFS2 and I was pretty computer illiterate (still am in some ways http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif....but DOA was my first experience in add ons and still one of the very best historical campaigns. I have fond memories of that campaign and the new warhawks. If we get a Port Moresby map, it should be a cinch cause I think we will have all the necessary aircraft except maybe the Nell.

It was (in fact still is) one of the best add-0ns for any sim around.

They did an excellent job. It was great fun to fly. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey gwanna, wasn't it Maskrider who did those PNG maps? Hope we get something like it in PF.

"If you tell me that it is necessary that we fight, then in the first six months to a year I will run wild, and I will show you an uninterrupted succession of victories. Should the war be prolonged for two or three years....I have no confidence in our ultimate victory" - Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.

Hey Yeah,

Maskrider!

Can we buy him too? I mean coax him also?

Great work, sorry, I got carried away drinking and not researching. Oh well I tried.

Thanks

Well, we've got a Spitfire Mark V that we can use except I think they used the tropical filtered ones?

There was an excellent download for CFS2 which involved an Australian P-40 Squadron at 7 mile strip outside Port Moresby. Probably written by the chaps you mention and a very good job. From what I have read subsequently it was very well researched and gave you an insight into the hellish situation these men were pitched into. They had to climb to meet superior numbers of a better plane that they had to avoid to even get at the bombers. I crashed and burned on about mission 4.

Don't think there is a map for Australia though. Maybe it will be included with the PNG map?

This particular campaign portrays the heroic exploits of RAAF 75 Squadron in New Guinea, so the map of Australia is not required to do this campaign.

For those of you who are not familiar with the story of the 75th you can read more about them and the old CFS2 campaign at: http://jamcraft.net/DoA_42v2/Docs/RAAF_Expansion_Pack_v2.htm#_A_Very_Special_Acknowl edgement!

This is great story about a brave squadron, and I recommend it to anyone with an interest in the PTO.

All the best, Don

I have taken the liberty of contacting Jorge Alsina and Joe Amodea to see if they are still active in the flightsim community and, if so, do they plan to reprise this outstanding Pacific campaign.

If the answer is yes, I have requested an interview with them on the subject.

All the best, Don

Excellent Pacettid,

I think this would be the true icing on top if you accomplish it..............and I'll owe you a cold beer.
