Thanks so much.

During Bomber Pilot Appreciation Week, which starts next week at HyperLobby and will run until at least the end of December 2004 (some week, eh?!), all fighter pilots will REFRAIM from attacking bombers until they have dropped their payloads over enemy targets.

Thanks for reminding me of this important public announcement BalieJr http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You're welcome. It's one reason I like to fly IL-2s, gives the fighters something different to do; specifically, dodge my sniper AI gunner, heh heh! (Actually, most pilots do a very good job of it, but I'm flying on mostly-real servers.)

Not to steal the thunder, but I think we ought to include Samie and BadBernie for writing the FBD script which makes the use of bombers actually important and thank those hosts who take the time to create well thought out missions where bombers can ply their trade.

And I definately send a salute to the dedicated bomber guys out there...it is true, without them the game would simply not be as enjoyable.

If you can't set up useful bomber missions (I thank all of you who do), then at least let us vulch with our bombers (I thank all of you who do). It's pretty fun.

Part of the reason I like to bomb is that the targets are all lined up for me, and barely moving, making it possible for me to hit them. And on the full-real servers, you can sneak about at low level like a rat in the baseboards, until the AAA radar opens up.

I have a real hoot of a game if you ever wanna let your hair down.

I call it Insane Plane and I think it's best with He-111's, but you can use whatever.. Even stukas make it fun. It is only worthy of people with a sense of humor so player disgression is advised...

Suggested Rules for INSANE PLANE:

- Game is set to spawn in air with UNLIMITED AMMO!
- All players pick the same base and plane type.

Then you just do a FFA and chase each other around in the air trying to shoot each other down while manning all the gun positions. When you get low and in a rolling scissors battle and you are manning the port or rear gunner you'll get all kindsa discomboberobibabulated. The one with the LEAST POINTS WINS (most negative points). The reason you dont pick separate sides is so that the AI does not do any of the fighting for you. It's all up to you baby.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Dogfighting with bombers--esp. those SwwweeeeEEeet He's is a real gas..

We aim to please. After all, you can't very well tote all that 30mm ammo home, now can you? What would the Kommodore say? If you're extra nice, we might even jink a little - it's better when we don't just lie there, ain't it?
