I have extreme-one's great RAF add on and was wondering if there is way to disable the random radio chatter that occurs. I wouldn't mind it, but it continues to happen when I'm flying other campaigns.
Thanks

(*why would anyone want to do that*) he mused.

Oh sorry...that wasn't the question.

Your choices are:

A. Turn off "In Fight Music" in your options screen.

B. Open the C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\samples\Speech\GB folder and remove the wav. file. (I'd back it up somewhere though).

Thanks for the info. As I stated, I love the chatter for the RAF campaign. But when I'm dive bombing in a Stuka, I don't really want to hear the Brits chatting it up.

There are other chatter packs available:

http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~chapman/flightsims/oberstguncam/SoundFiles/

(The three 20mb zip packs I got seem to have disappeared, but I think oberst may have just split them into smaller files: axischat0-axischat09, Ja0-Ja08, R01-R09, and US1-US8).

and somewhere on the forum (posted a couple of months ago) is a link to a small program called 'Chatter Manager', which allows you to change the chatter from your desktop at the click of a button, so you don't have to keep on manually swapping the files over.

BTW, I speak only English, and I got bored with the repetitivness of RAF chatter, so I got the Russian one. It hasn't got repetative because I don't understand a word of it, and it kinda sounds like German when you're not concentrating on it, so I don't really bother changing the pack when swapping sides! lol. I love the chatter packs. They make it feel as though you're part of a large front with loads of other sorties going on, rather than at the centre of one or two sorties with a handful of squads.

LMAO!!!
If I had a penny for every time I've been asked this....

I (we) should have put something in the readme file about how to disable it - we did tell you how to enable it after all.

But then again noone reads the bloody readme files anyway!http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
