a second cousin of mine who is an israeli F-16 pilot, came over on a trip to the united states. Being family we let him stay for the week hed be in nyc.
He asked if he could check his email on my computer, and when he saw my il2 desktop asked if i had the game. I said i did and he replied that he and his iaf friends love it to death and think its the best simulation ever, better than lomac in its FM characteristics.
He said that it was very realistic, fun, and not arcadish.

What in the world are you talking about? The guys said they liked FB and thought it was realistic..... Istreliteli reported that...... I see no problem and no politics in the thread till you interjected it with your flag and your statement in the post I deleted. This thread is FB related and interesting IMO because real pilots have an opinion onthe sim.... I could care less where they are from. I feel that i should warn you.... you dont have a leg to stand on with this, you are wrong... and please drop it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Cool to hear he loves it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif as for the other deleted post, well i think i can get the idea what it was about, it shames me that people still have bigotted attitudes.

I fly with anyone, any age, sex, creed, religion, and colour................ The only ones i have problems with are the 8 year old kids that are sitting on a cushion to reach the keyboard and the joystick that fills their hands 5 times over...there the little so and so's that shoot me down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You can fly wit me whenever you want, im easy to kill http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif to much skinning and not enough honing my skills http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You better stop talkin about me like that Tatertony. I use only one cushion, and the stick ain't that big..... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif
And the Israeli Airforce pilots especially the F-16 pilots are probably the best in the world in that plane. The US Navy jockies have a real hard time keepin up with em, but smoke the Pakistani pilots regularly. I know this from being in Ready Rooms during debriefings.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

I have personally fought the Israelis. They were good, but not any better than us. They like to toot their own horns for the world to see. I can't blame them considering that all their neighbors hate them.

They are for sure excellent pilots, but not because of the reasons you put here. The latest "massacre" in refugee camps proved to be bubble and "bombing of civilians" is nonsense. If they decide to bomb civilians, today we read about the Arabs/Palestinians just in history books.

Right, the kids we've seen killed on the news (European news reporting, the US version is probably more restrictive) are non civilians? It's just as beleivable as denying Oradour sur Glane, Babi Jar and Srebrenica.

Oh, and Tully, I think Fosters must taste better in it's import version. Some folks would concider me a beer snob since I generally dislike the slew of watery American beers (Coors lite? Please, club soda has more flavor.) And I think Fosters tastes great.

Budweiser? The king of what?

Monty Python: Drinking American beer is like making love in a canoe. It's ******* close to water.

Now here's a beer...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/horsesass/fin-medaillon.gif

It means "The End of the World" That's the map of Quebec (where it's brewed) on the label.

Anyone used to American Bud will be out cold and in the gutter after one or two of these. 9%, in bottle fermentation. It actually tasets like something. This is a real beer.

If you drink American Bud Lite, you shouldn't even look at the bottle.

I agree! You cannot blame soldiers for performing their duties, some are in fact brave enough to protest.Salute to them!

If the cousin was a Russian pilot somobody would get angry due to the whole Chechenya (don't know how to write this in English) conflict. And if the cousin was American somebody who is against the attack on Iraq would protest. Point of view depends on the point where one is sitting at the moment. It is nice that real pilots say it is a great game.If Erich Hartmann admitted the game is great it would be still ok for me and even better.

ahh.. the forums....

I think the IAF is cool. The fact that they love FB is even cooler! Too bad we don't have Avia S.199's in the sim. That was the first Israeli Fighter. I'm sure they get plenty of kicks flying the 109's though. Isn't it ironic? The first Israeli fighters were originally Nazi designs sold to Chechoslovakia! Anyway, I'm glad to hear they love this game as much as I do.

No wonder IAF pilots are so good, their grandpas trained on RWD-8, just like us, Poles, before WW2.

no no S-199s were not sold to Czechoslovakia: they were assembled after the war from various sparteparts of 109s with Jumo engines instead of DB ones and sold to Israel (with Sovist permission that time. They were nicknamed by our pilots "Mezek" (=mule) because they were nose-heavy and had very unpleasant and dangerous handling. I think one of the first Izrael-Arab war IAF ace was killed when landing that Mezek.

There are actually 3 different topics being talked about in this one thread.

1. Israeli pilots playing . . . and loving FB, which tickles me to death. Look at the LONG TERM HISTORY (that's past conflicts I am refering to folks. I'm not feeding the trolls), and you will find out just how good the IAF is. .

2. Israeli policies . . . which doesn't belong here.

3. Beer

See? A little humour . . . a little beer . . . and the whole world is a better place.

Tsisqua . . . cutting and pasting without fear.

BS man where's that pic of you that Leadspitter photo shoped up with all the Sam Adams bottles around the computer?

Persoanally...i don't get more exotic in the beer dept than the occtional corona with a lime or a Mic Ultra. And Flying Dog is the worlds best Microbrew.
For me there is only one beer, the King of Beers!

Bud gives me a headache.. those were Fosters in that photoshopped picture you are talking about.

Let's get back to beer discussions...

Anyone out in British Columbia will know this company, and my fav:

I'm with you, J. Shaftebury's fantastic stuff. In fact, you've inspired me...my usual Friday night "copilot" is Big Rock Traditional, but I think tonight I'll have to pick up some Shaftebury Cream Ale. Yummy! As the Shaftebury corporate motto says: "Think Global, Drink Local."

Bazzaah--

Funny you should mention Pride, as I'm a pretty big fan of that one, too. I'm back in Canada these days, but it wasn't all that long ago that I was living in Hanwell, just a skip away from Chiswick and a surprisingly large concentration of Fuller's pubs. Luvverly stuff indeed!
