This is a question for all the Spitfire experts out there. Could you please correct this list?

Merlin 45 - Production date 1941, Medium altitude, standard carburator

Merlin 46 - Production date ???, High altitude, greater diameter supercharger impeller, standard carburator

Merlin 45M - Production date ???, Low altitude, cropped supercharger impeller, standard carburator

Merlin 50 - Production date ???, Medium altitude, negative-G carburator

Merlin 50M - Production date 1943, Low altitude, cropped supercharger impeller, negative-G carburator

Is this the correct engine list for FB Spit V's?
Spitfire Mk.Vb (Merlin 45)
Spitfire Mk.Vb (Merlin 46) clipped
Spitfire LF.Mk.Vb (Merlin 50M)
Spitfire LF.Mk.Vb (Merlin 50M) clipped

Spitfire/Merlin evolution is a very interesting subject. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

According to the official list, the modelled Spits are:

Spitfire Mk.Vb (Merlin 45) 1941
Spitfire Mk.Vb (Merlin 46) 1942 clipped wings
Spitfire LF.Mk.Vb (Merlin 50) 1943
Spitfire LF.Mk.Vb (Merlin 50) 1944 clipped
wings

I don't have my copy of Morgan & Shacklady's "Spitfire: the history" to answer your questions, but if you happen to find it in your public library it will definitely answer your questions.
