View Full Version : Game keeps Crashing to Desktop

The game keeps CRASHING on BOTH of my computers. They are well above spec. I have tried running it from low to ultra settings. It would crash every 10 to 15 minutes and sometimes even more often. It would just crash to desktop with UPlay saying that it is syncing the game. I DO not have any Wacom or anything special plugged into my computer. Only a mouse, keyboard and a single monitor. This is VERY annoying. All the drivers are up to date. What can I do to stop it from crashing? I cannot play properly with the game crashing 5 meters from the finishing point of a long race.

HELP!

Hi there, Specter-X,

Welcome to the forums!

Can you try the following steps?:

Open your Control Panel, and make sure to uninstall anything which is related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.

Once this is done, please download and install the following files :

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=21254

I cannot believe you're recommending he uninstall Microsoft Redistributables. That is so irresponsible. They're not there just for Ubisoft products. By doing what you recommend he could make it so other programs do not work or even worse, make it so windows does not.

I've opened up a ticket for this exact issue and so far here are the recommended fixes.
In order to fully troubleshoot the problem that you are having, please try the steps below:

1. Disabling your background applications:

2. Clearing your temporary files:

3. Make sure the drivers for your video card, sound card, motherboard and processor are up-to-date. Running 2 cards in SLI or running 2 screens can also cause issues. Deactivate SLI or unplug any additional screens you may be using. If you are overclocking, try running at the stock clock settings.

4. Make sure that any antivirus or firewall software on your system is disabled.

5. Install Windows Updates:

I work as a DevOps Architect and have 15 years experience with troubleshooting everything from Domain controllers to Printers and everything inbetween, so you can imagine my response. The second response from Ubisoft was to send my Dxdiag and msinfo files along, which I did when I opened the case. I get the sense they don't know what the problem is and are scrambling to fix it quickly, in the meantime I really want to play but can't handle getting into a run and having the game crash out. I hardly ever buy pre-order and now I know why... I feel like a chump for giving my money away before the product is finished.

Cmon Ubisoft, every game you've released in the past couple years has been buggy as ****?? What do you actually pay your Testing staff for these days?? if its not to QA your games then fire them and save yourself some money..

I cleared the cache, closed most unrelated background processes, disabled anti virus. And the game STILL crashes on me randomly. And this happens to BOTH of my two desktop PC with different specs.(Both with NVIDIA graphics cards). So I believe this is not machine dependent. I will wait a few days for a fix or I will get a refund. I even pre-ordered the gold edition and this is making me regret now. SAD.:(
