View Full Version : Error de-008-02 ps4

I bought the digital copy of STEEP gold edition from the Playstation network store,
download it and pressed start to play it.
then after all the logos play I press X to start
a small window pops up saying...

"connecting to steep server, please wait..."

but after all I get is this

"connection error:
connection to the server has been lost. you have been
returned to the main menu. please check your network
connections and try again."

[DE-008-02]

I tried reseting my modern, router, ps4 and nothing
I get the same message.

I tried re-logging into the playstaion network
but nothing.

I found some threads that say something about some ports
whaterver that means.
I think if I was playing on a pc I may know what the heck they are talking about.
all my other games like the division, rainbow 6, ect. work just fine and I had redeem ubisoft rewards just fine from those games
but I spent all this money in this new game and haven't been able to play one minute of it.
am I the only one having this issue?
please help :(

Hi PSNSAYAGO, sorry you're having this issue. Could you run through the steps here (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/000025516/Connectivity-Troubleshooting-Steep-PS4/) and let us know what NAT type you're currently running at? Also, over how long of a period did you attempt to connect?

Hi PSNSAYAGO, sorry you're having this issue. Could you run through the steps here (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/000025516/Connectivity-Troubleshooting-Steep-PS4/) and let us know what NAT type you're currently running at? Also, over how long of a period did you attempt to connect?

I have NAT type 2

I unplugged the modern, wireless router and turned off my ps4

I then plugged in my moderm waited for all the lights to turn on
then my wireless router then my ps4
did the test internet connection
NAT type still 2
download speed 25.1 Mbps
upload 5.3 Mbps

started the game
pressed X to start on the main menu and...
got the same error :/

now if you want me to do the other steps I'm not
cause all my other games work just fine without me having to change anything
I don't see why I have to go through this much hassle to play a game that should be a simple download and play

also I don't know if this makes any difference
but this is not the ubisoft account I have link to my PSN account
I created a ubisoft account back in 2010 using the in game setting from need for speed on my ps3
I can log in most of the ubisoft services using the Playstation icom then logging in with my PSN info
but I couldn't log that way into this forums
so I had to make a new account via website so I can log in to this forums
which is something someone on a different thread mentioned.
I logged in my PSN linked ubisoft account and I can see and redeem rewards and everything
and but that account doesn't seem to have an e-mail attached to it cause I can only sign in through the Playstation icon on the sign in page
I tried to edit my account and add an e-mail to my PSN linked account but after I click edit over the e-mail part I can't type anything on the e-mail space
so yeah :(

I don't have facebook or twiiter
I don't care for that social media stuff
but why do I have to go through all this trouble to play a game that it should just be a press X and play
I DO NOT want to change my internet setting when I had no problems with any of the hundreds of other games I played
you can check my PSN id is SAYAGO
I have lots of trophies
is not like I just got a ps4 and recently started playing

Thanks for the info, PSNSAYGO. That answers the question I PMed you about. The support links I left in my last post should be able to resolve the email issue for you whenever you want to. I don't think that's related to your current connectivity issue, but it may be worth investigating.

Edit: Since social media is out, you can also get support at support.ubi.com (http://support.ubi.com).

question...
if I unlink my PSN id to my old account and link it to this new account
would I be able to keep all the unlock rewards?
or please tell me how I can add an e-mail to my PSN linked account?
I did try logging in the account manager using the Playstation icon then using my PSN ifo to log in
but it won't let me type anything in the e-mail space after I click edit :/

ok after a lot of PMing with UbiVertigo
he fixed my original ubisoft account that didn't have an e-mail attached to it.
what happened was that my account was too OLD!!! :D
but he fixed it so I can now sign in the forums without using the Playstation icon on the log in page :)
I wanted to thank him for all the time he took to fixed it
and I will sign in in a min on my original account to tahnk him again :D

so if you have this error try PMing UbiVertigo to check your ubisoft account
or if you can log in your ubisoft account by typing your e-mail and password
make sure that in the account manager it shows your e-mail
cause my guess is that this game trys to get your ubisoft info by loging you via your e-mail and password
and other ubisoft games may just use the PSN info

and I was able to get in the game steep with no problem whatsoever :) :) :)
