If your an offline player, like myself I find it an essential.

Also when AEP gets patched BOE will be patched so you will get a lotmore new campaigns using the new AEP planes.

No one who has bought it from what I have read has been dissapointed.

BUY it!

Dom01,
It's great! Plenty of action over Northern Europe. Besides the offline campaign my squad is using it as an online campaign as well.

Metallicaner,
You can get it here:

Interesting. I wasn't aware that is wouldn't work with Aces. So as long as I have Aces installed will it work or will I be waiting for a patch? It sure looked good from teh pics, but then doesn't CFS3.

Dom, BOE works fine with AEP, but doesn't make use of the new a/c (Spitfire, P51B&C, P-38, etc.). If you want, once a mission has been generated, you can pull up the file/map in FMB and swap out the aircraft for offline play.

The promised patches should fix this. In the meantime, the range of missions, the ground action and the numbers of aircraft engaged make this a great addition to the FB experience.

It WILL work with AEP.

It just doesnt use the new planes until the patch comes out.

I had not heard of this (BoE) before and since reading this thread I checked it out! This add-on is NOT available at retail stores is my guess(?)...download only?

Maybe I should wait for the patch first.

PS. what I personally want is a "Zemke's Wolfpack" add-on or the "Spits in Malta"

I ordered it. I'm looking forward to it. It was backordered when I ordered it, but it's back in stock now.

I had it but returned it, its great if your more interested in offline play but for me I fly mostly online.

Starshoy also offers alot of great tech help on simhq.com for the problems many people are experiencing with it.

Buzzu long time no see and its good to see you around again you will like the dynamic campaign generator alot.

Can you get "BoE" at EB stores? I am NOT finding this great sounding add-on anywhere? I know I'm in Canada...but c'mon!!!(heh, heh)

Where did you guys get it?...and tell about the ground troops or activity like that, if you can that would be great!. Thank you in advance.

I finally got it, but have a problem. I can't see the top half of the map in briefing, or in the plane. Anybody else have this problem?

Like they said, it is a great add-on for FB.
Being an off-line player, I highly recommend it. So far it appears to be a mail order only item from justflight, but some people have seen it in shops in Europe. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm thinking of buying BoE but first I have some questions.

I've read that BoE has a new dynamic campaign generator in which there will be more variation in missions and in which there will be ground battles like in the original IL-2.

Is this correct and does it apply on the FB/AEP campaigns as well?

It is correct. Over the Western European maps the campaign missions are not nearly as repetetive and sterile as they were before and they use alot more "ingredients" to keep you busy.

It does not effect the FB/AEP missions as it works with seperate campaigns & maps. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
