Can't hardly keep my eyes open but had to come in here just to say WOW! This game looks sweet on 4xAA 8XAF.

Early sat. morning I decided to get in a mission or 2 while the wife and daughter got ready for our day at the zoo.

After about 10 minutes of mission the Mrs says something smells funny( Its allergy season and I can't smell nada.)

Right on cue there is a little puff of smoke to signal the demise of my old companion 4600 Ti, S' commarade we've many a mission together old chum.

Now its dilemma time because this zoo trip is set in stone. Maybe I can slip out during the parrot show thinks I. Mrs knows me well though.

Don't even think about cancelling this buster says she. ^%$#%&&$# says I.She then softens the blow by adding "We can go by Comp USA after the zoo".........Yipee!

The zoo was a mixed blur of Wow, Giraffes have purple tounges? hmmpff 5900 Ultra or 9800 pro? 5950 or 9800 xt? nope, can't see spending that much right now. Man Capuchin monkies hump quickly. Crap, this means a new power supply as well.Wonder what would happen if a Giraffe and a Capuchin.......bad lad, stop that.

Now its almost 3:00 am and I just keep loading QMB's just to look at all the different planes and go wow, wow, wow.

The install disc came with the 3.4 drivers for the Radeon 9800 pro, hehe, only a year out of date. I really don't even know what to expect when the 4.1 and 4.2 is done downloading because the FPS are insane now compared to what I had. If it gets much better I may pee my pants.

Someone tell me congrats because all I got from the ladies all the way home was odd looks as I babbled about FPS and anisotropic filtering and why the earth isn't up to its knees in Capuchin monkeys.

..............................
I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

Great story, I hope the monkeys don't hump your 9800 Pro though. That could be messy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

I have to take the kids to see the new Scooby Doo movie this afternoon..... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Maybe I should talk the wife into going by CompUSA on the way home because I have been thinking about replacing my GF 4600Ti with a 9800 Pro for a while now and it sounds like it is a big improvement. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

We're starting to see the high end FX 5900 and ATI 9800 cards dropping to around $200US, at least for the 128Mb cards...I'm waiting for the 256Mb cards to hit $250 myself.

As I recall, Udidtoo, you're located in the middle left half of Arizona. Did you go to Phoenix' zoo, or did you manage to make it to San Diego and back in time to go to CompUSA?

cheers

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I'd need one of the Gotha's to make it to San Diego and back in one day Horseback http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

We went to the World Wildlife Zoo in Phoenix, not on a par with Phoenix zoo really but convienently close to a Comp USA. Also right next to Luke AFB. Got to see a pair of F-117's low and slow, very cool

Still running a 4200 here. Actually an Albatron 4200p turbo that gives me the performance of a 4600. Point being that I have it installed in a 3.06 with 1 gig of rambus. Not the smartest thing I have ever done. I have been waiting for it to fry on me for months now so I could convince the fine bride "we" needed to purchase a better card. Little sucker won't quit. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Next time I don't be chincy on the vid card. I know I'm missing out on some fine viewing.

P.S. also put in a 5.1 gamer for the sound. Another high point in my mental midgetry.

Glad ya have the new card mate.
