Patch is ready. If there will be endorsment from YBI - download starts tomorrow.

1. Game graphic had been speedup. In the normal mode of 1152x864x32, 2xAA + triliniar filtering online 35-55FPS (With lowered ground detales). On the average on GF4600 in comparison with v1.0 about 10 FPS been added.

2. Sound had been reworked. Sound "shading" works, looks like full support for EAX v3.0 been introdused (I don't use hardware acceleration). I can hear hits in my aircraft, can hear (planes) flying hearby, tracers, enemy planes behind me.

3. Network. They promise the decrease in lags. Did not try mass multipleyer.

4. In the regime of "perfec graphic" - bonus - you can see up to 30 km on the ground. The "perfec graphic" is characterized now not only by beautiful water, but also the "correct geometry of the surfaces", "increased distance of surfaces".
The range of the visibility of the aircrafts did not change.

5. In the "Perfec graphic" regime FPS rate increased from 32 FPS to 38 FPS with Radeon9700.

6. They promised to "fix" small machine guns.
MG-13 no longer "adornment", but "lethal force"... So is ShVAK.

7. Caliber of 30mm and larger work according to the principle - "one patient - one pill".
Rarely when the second (pill) is required.

8. With 20mm not so clear. With MG151/20 and MG-FF 2-3 rounds are enough to tear out wings of the LaGG. However, Fokker can stably withstand 20 rounds from ShVAK.

9. FM is not indisputable... but good. Really good.

10. F-4 - Uber. Both on the vertical and on the horizontal plains.

11. Flaps work great.

12. 0% of throttle = 10% of real thrust. Like - in idle. All aircraft hold energy very well. To dump speed it is necessary to actively use flaps and propeller pitch.

13. Aircraft with the dead engine glide about 10 km for the loss of 1000m altitude.

14. Aircrafts without the automatic slats - spin. Spin often.

15. VVS before year 43 - suck.

16. Accuracy of onboard gunners is reduced. During the active maneuvers they cease shooting.

All the above - my IMHO - it can be entirely absent from the patch. Thus far no one knows that they will be inclided in the final release.

Now everything depends on Yubi.

Thank you Bogun and Ross_Youss (and babelfish).

So now we just wait for Ubi. According to Oleg, he thinks it will be 2-3 weeks for Ubi to approve it. Hurry up, Ubi! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Oleg said in another post on Sukhoi.ru - patch is mainly for fixes (there could be one or two new planes).

New planes will come with the add-on.

Buzz,

I don't care if there are no new planes in the patch. Just the fact that no more rear gunners will be taking out my eyeballs from 600 meters while they are in an inverted 3G maneuver is enough for me .....

There was indeed a post on the VOW boards earlier today stating that a ROSS flyer was "caught" with different DLL versions. The post was subsequently deleted.

all of that is consistent with someone flying a beta patch version of the game. Not surprising since the guy is leaking patch info.

IIRC the strict NDA even revealing you have the beta patch and that it's got X & Y is considered a dishonorable act.

Hmmm. I hope the part about the ultra-tough concrete FW-190 still absorbing numerous cannon rounds doesn't mean that this wasn't looked at.

VVS sucks now before 1943?
What about Yak-1B, La-5, P-39, Mig-3U? How did they change I wonder?

Everything else sounds good. I think someone asked about ships? In another thread Oleg stated that ship AAA accuracy is reduced.

What planes did and didn't have automatic slats? Which planes will be more prone to spin then?

It is easier for Oleg to talk at length in Russian.
It used to be all the way around - Oleg would disseminate info. here and it had been translated for Sukhoi.ru participants. But lately, with the avalanche of the offensive (to Oleg) posts on this forum, accusing him in bias and dishonesty, he probably loosing interest talking to us.
I don't blame him - I would too - stopped taking to arrogant m0rrons.

On the Sukhoi forum participants, also often critical, but respectful to Oleg - so he talks. He speaks to correct errors and to manage expectations.

Not long ago here:
http://sukhoi.ru/forum/showthread.php?s=18ff8768cf12e83c7976bd5fcf1a900e&threadid=10441&perpage=25&pagenumber=3
Oleg was talking about - what is in the patch (fixes), what is planned for add-on and what his new sim would be.

The patch sounds great to me. I am happy with the planes already in FB (except the lack of Bf 110C4/B, but that isn't done yet anyways) so I don't mind if it is nothing but bug fixes. However, I think they will probebly include a new plane or 2, but it really makes no difference to me. Thanks for the find/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

I/JG1 Oesau (http://jg1-oesau.org) is recruiting. Join us!

Stab.I/JG1Death at HL, Maj_Death at Ubi.com

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

Come on now...acceleration is terrible and the thing stalls with slightest amount of elevator.I was testing plane so 25 percent fuel and no bombs...The 190 was an alternative to the 109...yes it had more firepower for the increased bombers that were targeted at end of war and was tougher plus the fact that its cockpit was made for comfort with its stylish leather, easy to handle controls(electronic trim),much better leverage of stick for increased comfort at speeds and lack of exhaust in cockpit...but also remember that many aces wouldnt convertt over and stayed with their 109's...if it was so much better none would of stayed...nuff said...Be Sure(tm)

The 109 improved also at end of war...Now if you feel that the 190 in game is the way it should be then explain why no one takes them up online...read the many post here about the porked fm,its not just me.Come on I had to almost pull completely back on stick to get some lift going...at 200 kph the thing should want to rise by itself considering the great climb it is supposed to have...Many people will be pizzed here if the fm for the 190's is not fixed...There is one model of 190 that seems much better....I think its the A8 or A9...seems way different with alot of lift

almost crashed
- on take off since you seem to have no lift even at
- 200kph.

You do know that the power on stall speed of a real life FW-190A4 is 210 km/h, right? In FB you can safely fly at 160 km/h.

The FB planes are much too forgiving in stalling characteristics, not the other way around.

I find the F8 to have the best handling; it doesn't seem to stall as much. The only difference I can find between F8 and A8 is that F8 is 100kg lighter.

I didnt know that FW190 had such high power on stall speed
but I do know that the planes hsould feel different.
The planes in FB are not really modeled in differences in stall speeds. They all seem to have the same landing and takeoff speeds. There doesnt seem to be a weight difference when carrying bombs and when you drop a bomb your handling should get much better but it doesnt.Read this story about Lomac by Ian Boys from Alpha build

Oleg said in latest info on patch that planes now have better tuned landing...well see/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

- Tweaking and perfecting the FM, to match the aircraft landing and altitude characteristics (including climbrates) closer to the original.

I fly the F8 online a lot.

I crash a lot, I get killed a lot.

I do take the odd bogey out though!

And it is fast, I rotate at 200 - 220 no flaps and it zooms into the air!

But I want the flight model sorted, the loss of elevator control at higher speeds is embarrassing! (a bit like my spelling).
