I seemed to solve my freezing problem in SC by increasing the Vdimm voltage on my motherboard from 2.75 to 2.85 (using Corsair XMS 3200 ram...2 sticks of 512). First, I tried everything.....fastwrites off, EAX tuning, DXDIAG tweaking, you name it but all a no go. Next, I disabled my overclocking and things worked fine. Then, I went back to my original overclock with the increased Vdimm adjustment and so far I've experienced no freezing. This has been a wild ride to get this game working. I don't recommend anyone trying this that doesn't know what they are doing. Your system can be fried beyond a cheap repair.......good luck

I had a weird problem when I first bought my ATI card, but it turns out I fixed it by disabling my fastwrites on the SMARTGUART settings. But, they are still enabled in the bios. It's a VIA thing, I believe.

Your fix is rather odd, having to overclock just to get the thing to work. What mobo chipset do you have?

My system:

AMD XP 2400+ @ 2.13 Ghz
1 gig of Corsair DDR PC2700 RAM @333Mhz
Radeon 9800 Pro video w/TV out core @434, mem @720
Windows XP SP 1
Microsoft Directx 9.0a
Antec TruePower TrueBlue True480 PSU
16x Antec DVD drive
24x10x40 Plexwriter CD-RW
1 Westerndigital 40 gig harddrive, master
1 Westerndigital 100 gig hdd, slave
XFX KT400 ALH Via mainboard, 4-in-1 4.48
All in my modded "Spiderman" case!

Yes it is strange but I tried every combination I could think of. Maybe it is something I'm not aware of...

P4 2.53@2.6 140 FSB
Corsair XMS 3200c2 @ DDR384 (140fsb...3:4 ratio) 2.5-6-3-3
Epox 4PEA+ (845PE)
Audigy 2 (new betas)
9700Pro 3.5 cats...fastwrite disabled, no AA,1024x768

All is well now, this game is so cool!!!!

ur problem was taken care because u putted more voltage and overclocked due this the fan cooling system made more faster turns cooling thins faster and making card not to overheat and stop responding thats why u have no screene freeze problem anymore...
