I have tried to get CEM in German a/c (prop pitch) working but I am failing at this time. What am I missing? Please help open my eyes. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but...
1) German planes have auto pitch on by default
2) To activate/deactive auto pitch in German planes the default key is...SHIFT + 0(zero).

Thanks Teufel_Eldritch! Doh! I had those keys assigned to something else. I appreciate the help. All fixed now!

Hit that Shift + 0 at your peril, Hawk. The German a/c that I've tried it with have fried their engines at the drop of a hat if I dropped out of Auto pitch at the wrong moment (remember, you go from a 'correct' pitch to 100% immediately), and I haven't found the right moment yet.

The Soviet a/c seem more forgiving in this respect. You can approximate the pitch percentage to the power setting, and things will work okay (still getting the hang of that), but it seems more likely that my ex wife will forgive me than that I will figure out the German prop pitch settings by myself.

Maybe some of the experten will see this thread and take pity on both of us.

map a key for auto pitch on and off, then a key for 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, etc etc. never stay on 100 pitch for more than a split second and depending on your speed tas, not ias you can instantly fry the engine by going to 100 pitch. by pushing the value you want before you go to manual pitch you will not smoke your engine. so if you push 60% before you go to manual, when you do go to manual the prop will change to 60%. one tip for you if you should ever accidentally go to 100 pitch while your tas is too high, chop the throttle it will save your engine. launch your game and go to multiplayer, host a game and set it for air starts, mess with the pitch till you find something you like. by going to multiplayer you can get quick air starts rather having to load a new game via quick mission. it took me about 10 planes till I quit smoking the engine right away. you really have to push the engine in 20 planes or so till you get into your mind the parameters of just how far you can go w/o damaging the engine. and believe me you can push it a lot farther than you think.
