Is there no fire extinguishers for this aircraft? Since I'm always flying with my engines on fire from being shot up all the time is there no way to put these fires out? I tried feathering the prop and diving fast to blow it out like in the Movies but to no avail, selecting the engine and hitting the "E" (extinguisher) key does nothing unless there is none. Is the extinguisher for engine fires only on a few aircraft or is there some other method of putting these fires out?

the fire extinguisher and feather prop commands are not binded to a key by default, yuo have to go into controls and set them up, i use Z and X

I did bind my fire extinguisher to the " E " key and feather prop to the " F " key, I was saying that nothing happens when I hit the " E " key or do you have to hit it numerous times like a discharge or something. I never notice any white smoke and the engine still spews out black smoke. I check the temp guage and it is usually off the scale and then you get weird sort of engine seizing up sounds then bam, no power. Maybe this plane had no extinguishers in the engine.

As far as i know, only the Russian TB-3 has them. For the Heinkel, diving works well in my case.. Be sure that if the engine still works, that you should shut it off... Also, be sure that the dive is more than 45 degrees...

Yes, I've had good results turning off the engine then diving and feathering the prop to put out fires.

There is no fire extinguisher on the he-111. Kill the engine on fire, drop your load, head back for home...If you have enough altitude you can try a dive but it don't work at all time.

Theres a more serious problem at hand: while (in my case) my engines often get damaged, but only very rarely start to burn, if anyting gets on fire on my He-111 its one of the fuel tanks in the wings.

While you were able to fly on for quite some time eben with heavy fires in IL-2, that doesnt work in FB. If your fuel tanks catch fire, you almost immediately have to gain some more height and bail out, since the tanks usually explode really fast, which leads to the loss of the respective wing.

And if the dont explode, the fire simply destroys the wing's structure, leading to the loss of the wing too.

I guess I'll have to stick with the diving procedure, I was able to fly back the other day with just one engine, a little slow but I made it, bumpy landing though. Seems to me that the HE-111 can take quite a bit of damage, except with the wings, when someone dives down on you and hits the midwing you're toast, I mean that literally.
