View Full Version : Anti-Aircraft fire and personality (a simple solution)

Why not create new anti-aircraft guns using existing 3d models?
These guns would have modifications to one or more of the following:
range, accuracy, dispersion, visibility, turn speed, burst settings, etc.

They could use existing 3d models and could have a short form addition to the name to tell them apart.

Why?
It does not look realistic to have all anti-aircraft guns behave in the same way and it would allow much more control for mission designers. Image how you could use it to control behaviour of anti-aircraft fire and what it would look like to see multiple AA guns behaving slightly differently at the same time.

over 18 countries used the 40 mm Boforsgun.
Among them USA, Japan, UK, France, Netherland ETC ETC http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Between the german 20mm AA and 88 mm there is a great segment of medium AA-Guns Missing for the germans.

So my personal belief is that the game miss very much without this pesky gun.

Not at all, I think. No, I mean it is good idea, but there are more priorities in game/ai behavor for now, so it wouldn't be on top of the list.

By the way, ppl, maybe there is someone, who would make a list of such good features, which people would like to see in the game (no matter AEP, PF or BoB) and send it to il2beta. It's all because there are many good ideas hanging up on forum and then getting forgotten by everyone. It is not good.

Carriers move in online Coops, if the mission builder has set waypoints for the carriers.

They also move in offline campaigns, and in the quick mission builder.

I doubt they will ever be able to move in dogfights.
