How long will it be before technology becomes cheap enough for extinct/rare warbirds to be manufactured/replicated? I know about the 262 and I heard that some mad bloke is trying to scratch build Stirling bomber.

It'll never be cheap to do so because the market is so small. The technology for fabricating any airframe exists, it's just the economies of scale that make it so expensive. The aero engine market (especially for Merlins) is reasonably healthy, especially in the States, so that need not be a problem. Of course, getting your dream plane past CAA/FAA inspections is another matter entirely.

I heard someone was building full size Mosquito fuselages to order the other day, have looked around on the internet but can't find any more information. I'd sure love one of those.

Yeah, if you're going to do something, it's got to be full size. I can't see the point in buying a 2/3rds size Spitfire replica with a Cessna engine. It's got to be full size, and it's got to have a Merlin.
