Hi guys,

I've just bought the AEP expansion pack bundled with IL2 FB. I was really looking forward to flying campaigns that used the new stuff, specifically P51 and P38 campaigns. Yet I can't seem to find any - I can't find any US or UK campaign missions?

Are these included in the game? If not, does anybody have a link to somewhere that I can download them? If these campaigns aren't included, I find it slightly strange that all of the equipment and new maps are there, but the actual campaigns aren't?

These campaigns are actually on BOE (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/battleovereurope/). I hope that we will get a few more as the patches come out. BOE (http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/data/919285.html) is a good package. Unlike the AEP which is an upgrade BOE (http://www.justflight.com/en/(o32lp445ot54z2ark0f4osal)/index.aspx) is a true add on. I know it is kind of disapointing but it is worth it.

Order "Battle over Europe" which was made by the creators of the Normandy + Ardennes maps and contains missions + campaigns on these maps:

Campaigns for Normandy and Ardennes won't likely appear in "mainline" releases before BoB.

This interview explains how these maps and Western Front objects were created and why campaigns are supported only in a separate product, called Battle over Europe.

News on that is that we will have 5 new careers.

P-38 fighter bomber, Stuka D5 night bomber, BF-110 interceptor, Me-163 rocket interceptor and RAF fighter or fighter/bomber career.

It is done except of German and French localisation of RAF career (and new Spitfires for this career)

After release of Oleg's patch (or rather after time when I have final version of it), I need a couple of days to add the planes. Plus I need German and French texts, I hope they will be ready even before that. The rest depends on JF - but it all should be done pretty quickly. Early to mid April?

Can confirm now that there will be several models of Spitfire IX used in BoE RAF campaign as well as several models of AI B-25. The Spitfires will be used in all roles, including ground attack because they can carry bombs.

Hi guys,

Thankyou very much for your help in finding missions. Netwings had quite a few missions - unfortunately browsing their file directory is quite troublesome, as I couldn't get the search feature to work correctly. Instead I just downloaded from the new files section, as there were plenty.

So I really need to purchase BOE to make the most of the new aircraft in AEP, unless I want to build my own missions? Am I the only one who finds this a little disappointing?

download lowengrin's DCG and "the real deal" and you can fly any plane in pretty good dynamic campagins. it's free.

Yes I find it dissapointing.

BOE is in effect the second offline part of the AEP expansion.

Although you have the Normandy campaign which is excellent. You havent got the new planes.

HOWEVER a patch will come out with lots more campaigns for BOE which include the new AEP planes.

The patch will be out shortley after the next official patch.

BUY BOE!!

Again, all of your opinions and suggestions are much appreciated. I've got one last question:

What does AEP include that I couldn't get in a patch or BOE?

Does any of the above mentioned stuff work for the Online campaign thing?

ContrailKing, AEP is the actual game enhancement package that adds all the new aircraft (and a few other game engine enhancements). Without it, a P38 campaign would have no P38. You can't get these through patches and the like.

The missions and campaigns you're being directed to sit on top of AEP and make use of all the new aircraft.

Cheers, Spinner

The ngen campaigns are only available within the BoE add-on product (that I am aware of) There are contractual agreements keeping any of the developers that were a part of BoE from handing out free campaigns for those maps. (third hand info! dont quote me on this). As noted above, there are plenty of missions available, and with Lowengrin's DCG, you should be able to run some online coops with your pals as well as an offline campaign. (I haven't used the latest version of DCG, so I cant speak well for its online usage in its current form).

There are plenty of Normandy missions and campaign options for AEP, and most seem to be listed in the posts so far. One new option is a small campaign focusing on Spitfire action in Normandy by Hotspace. You'll find it in Netwings. It's worth the trip.
