This is my first post so be easy on me. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Dear Oleg,

I am a fan of the bombers from the WW2 era and would love to have more flyable bombers in IL-2.

I have read post that it is very hard to create bombers due to the time, number of stations, lack of information , etc.....

The work of the modellers is unbelievable and I thank everyone of you. However,I would like to know if it would be possible to release bombers i.e. pathces , add-ons, with only the pilot and bombadier/bombsight stations? After these bombers were "released" the other crew stations could be added on in patches.

I know I may be a little impatient but I would really hate to see alot of the great work that you and 3rd party modellers are creating not to be used.

Personally, I am not one for "First Person Shooter Games" which the gunstations are to me.

Just a thought........

Thank you for your great work and most importantly your time.

Somebody else had a similar idea before, but I don't think it's a good one.

It just wouldn't be consistant with Oleg's main policy of either doing it completely, or not at all.

Besides, I wouldmiss the option to use the turrets myself if needed, and the plane would not be useable to it's fullest capacity in co-ops either.
Although I can see your point, I for myself like it better to see interiors added as a whole, or not at all.

Dear Future,

I knew some people would be against this idea. i just thought that it would be better to get more planes in the game. Like I said the modellers work is amazing and I dont want any models to go to waste.

As far as Olegs policy of doing aircraft completely or not as all got me to thinkin'. There is no co-pilot "station" for the TB-3... There is no bomb bays to open/close in the He-111... There is no fuel control/transfer if one engine is on fire or damaged...There is no radio equipmet to use...and worst off all there is no communication between the crew, i.e. "There is a bogey coming in from 3 o'clock high!" etc... I no I am nit-picking.

I dont fly coop, although one day I would like to, but wouldn't be better to have 9 extra B-17's flying in formation together than having 9 other bodies, other than the pilot, in one B-17?
A little more realistic.

And like I said they could eventually add the other stations in on a patch.

Oh yeah, where is the recruiting station for the 380th BG/ 5th AF? I am a bomber jockey looking to get into the WAR!

It's a better approach but even then the cockpit of a bomber not obsolete by mid or end war is still a lot of work. I know one sim that did a presentable job and they did the whole plane but that was the focus of the sim. The FM's were poor and some other things but as for life as bomber crew, B17-II is the deal so far. It's even got crew treating their own wounded. The bombsight is not totally down to real (I have that on very good authority!) but it's far closer than anything else in civilian land. Still, the whole sim is mostly that one plane with the rest being flyable extras. They never got the multicrew online, either.

nanuuq, don't get me wrong, I'd be among the first people to call 3 cheers if we could get a cockpit and especially a bombsight on the B-17.
But it seems that we only get what is approved by 1C for further development by them. Maybe, if we call out loud enough and often enough, Oleg may finally see that having a descent heavy bomber like the Fortress in the game is a must.
