Oh I hate it when I do that. Will finish it in a bit /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I was on a server can't recall name. It was a custom icon none for enemy and minimap was on only. Flying wing with a new squadie, we was on TS we were in P-39's We ran across of a couple of 109's out and away from the usual furbal. We could tell they were on coms aswell. Every time one of us would get close enough to the leader (highest 109) to get ready for the shot he would break and split s or something. And we would do the same. Likewize when his wing would get close to one of us that was tailing his leader wed yell break and he would not follow he would just keep climbing to regroup and not worry to take a shot.We danced for about 20 minutes none of the four of us could get a hit in. It was neat going against 2 pilots that was in communication with each other, and working as a team. And not having some other knuckle head outside of the four finding us and take one of us out and unbalancing the dance. Only regret was the host changed the Map. I'm sure if he'd of know the epic battle ensuing he would of just watched. Oops forgot it had no outside views. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Do you have any well fought memories that took long enough to relish them.

virtualpilots has many fights like that but no p39. And thier dedicated TS server is great. Definatly the best teamwork and most fun to have huge battles with people on comms hearing people yell they are hit but they are staying in the fight as cover or dive down to 2000m to draw enemy fighters down and we keep thier 6 clean.

My most memorable moment was coming out of the clouds to see 3 p40ms flight in formation that spotted me at the same i seen them and all broke right in unison, I wound up getting 2 p40s with my g2 and was looking for the other feeling confident then i check my six and see a la5 "java selecht" he fired the same time i looked and ripped off my wing was such a great battle.

Sounds great! TS adds so much to the experience. Where do you find out that the public server has a TS server also running?

I joined the Finnish server's TS channel the other night... couldn't understand a word as, you guessed it, it was all in Finnish /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well if the host made mission properly it should be in mission briefing.

I have a TS server but its for squad use. Although if you are flying with me or one of the 131st and you want to be a wingman then you can asked them to bring you into the TS server.

LeadSpitter!
You aint wrong about virtualpilots. I only seem to play on this server at the moment. The 99% of pilots who get on there are a good crowd. Its nice to see teamwork.
last night escorted 4 TB3s to the target. Got jumped by some fighters (you might have been one of them). I made a bad move & never got home for tea/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I felt like i'd let them down badly when I was watching the battle as I floated down to the sea.It gets the heart rate going and is an amazing sight to see. Makes this Sim pretty special in my book.
Intense gaming at it's best/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yeh I played on one of these the otherday virtualpilots_1 I think. It was first time on theirs for me. Blue side had the least help so I joined it. Took off with 50% fuel in a 109 it had no cannon I remember that much. Was flying @ 2500 and looking around saw a few dots but wasn't able to identify anything. Then saw a water mark of a low aircraft then saw tracers from i. It was attacking ground targets or something. Went down and low and behold a big fat P-47, problem was another 109 must of seen it as I did we nearly ran into each other setting up on it. I made my pass fired a short burst, not sure if I hit then pulled up and reset then the other 109 made a pass then pulled out I cam in again and in she went tore off the left wing. So I pulled out pleased I had made a full real kill and was heading home. Lucky for me I had paid attention to my heading when I left base. Unlucky for me 50% was only enough to see base but not quite make it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Hi,

I had some fun in virtualpilots on Friday...mostly making a hash of torpedo boming in an He-111 and ending up in the briny.

Many thanks to you, madsarmy, buzzing around in that Hurri, trying to keep the enemy off. ;-)

Cheers,
Norris

I've had the pleasure of being involved in more and more of these fights lately. The squad has some opinions as to why (HL for one), but I must say it's very enjoyable and even after months (heck years!) of flying IL2/FB This type of engagement gets me on the edge of my seat and draws out the killer instinct once again.

Although it wasn't a coordinated effort, I had a great 10 min battle yesterday one vs one with an excellent 109 pilot. Like TOAD, we were away from the main alley and happened upon one another by chance. Me in my P-39 and him in his 109 (both early models). The weather was good, but there were some low-hanging clouds. We danced for a long time, both taking high-deflection shots and both receiving fuel leaks, but no other real damage. I finally pushed my Allison a little too hard and broke away as it sounded a little rough only to see his engine die from fuel starvation. I made a pass with my streamers going as he set it down and limped back to my own base.

No shoot downs occurred in this fight, but it was very satisfying nonetheless.

Virtualpilots' servers are great. Hats off to LLve34 for running them (at least I think it's them). Seems like those are the only servers that exclude jets & la7s, and seperate blue aircraft from the red (so you dont have bases that allow all aircraft in the game, hate that).
Also their TS servers are a great touch. Now I just need to learn finnish /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .

I've joined "hard-core" online fights recently and there're only few servers on HL which a visit. The rest with cockpit always on setting not checked and icons all over are just not worth it. Virtualpilots servers are great (safe the one with red island and a lot of distance from coast to that island. Also I like Greatgreen for it's dynamics and very well done missions. My friend convinced me to install TS ,since it's great he keeps saying all the time, so I'll do as he commands http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. There're times when I only wonder if people I accidently happen to fly with are dumb or what. See I have quite unique ability to draw enemy fighters attention. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And mostly I am able to get rid of them, for the rest I end either dead in the cockpit or with my engine inoperable. It's only bad that game engine do not count those who end up splatterd all over the grass when they do not manage to follow your maneouveres as kills. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But last time I flew with Bf109 on Virtualpilots it was really something... as usually I was jumped by La but I got rid of him during the first few moments (there were 2 other Bf's which flew with me but none of them managed to do anything they just circled and had a lot of work with flying) Then there was another La behind my back and this one was way way better I couldn't shake him. Then Yak appeared so it was finally 3 of them who tyried to get me and guess what? Those two Bf's did sh*t. NOT A THING. They could shot them down easily if they knew what a team work means but they obviously didn't. The other time there was no need for TS - couple of Bfs circled high, the rest of us covered 1500 meters. I believe that even without TS cooperation can be achieved if there's a will. Most of the time all it takes is to say "here is that very nice Bf on your six I am covering you"

But concerning good experineces... or exciting ones at least, her's one: I joined He 111 (I don't know the name of a guy behind it's controlls but he flies with really interesting bright green identification numbers and letters http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. It was Finland map no to forget, We climbed and flew over the front, he bombed the target and we got back. There was no fight, it was just an escort mission, I was covering him on his mission and it was highly satisfying, well at least for me. Somehow it looked as it was done in WWII. Not every mission was full of heroic fight. Somehow I prefer servers where're objectives which give the flying some reason... but that"s just me I guess...
