Anyone actually fly attack missions on HL? I think the type 3 sturmo is a pretty cool ride- I'd love to be part of a dozen dealing out problems to a fighter base. (a few La's or Yaks would be welcome to come for the ride <g&gthttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously, all I see is DF's. There is some bombing over in Ubi but I'd rather spend my time in HL. Anything for a mudmover?

Cheers

Look for FighterJerks on HL. I always try to leave some room for ground-pounders. On the next mission change, I'm going to dedicate rearward bases to bombers.

VFC*Host is another host who looks out for you guys.

I myself enjoy doing bombing runs and strafing airfields (when its legal!) more than anything. I love the last Sturmovik with the large cannons.. that thing is a beast and can easily down plans in the air. I'm very looking forward to doing these kind of runs in the future with a BF110 or a P38.. ahhh, those P38 rockets or the MK108s on the BF110, weee!

I have to agree 100% on the 43M version of the Sturmovik. Behind the Dora, it's actually my most prefered plane to fly in the game.

Check out GreaterGreen, they have an excellent variety of ground pounding scenarios with great realism settings.

Baldie I've been looking for your server for a few days now and haven't ever seen it on HL. When do you have it up?

I'm itching to try that new teamwork system you were yapping about http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Fly Coops instead of those #@!& DFs and you'll see lots of Sturmos. All of Hangar's 100-plus missions, which are still used by many hosts, are based around the Sturmo.

The M3 probably is the best ground pounder with those 37mm howitzers (in real life they didn't work very well, according to RL Sturmo pilots).

But IMHO the BEST Sturmo is the Field Mod. It's a modification of the Series 3, the first IL-2 to use those nasty 23mm cannon. The twin tail gun is very effective. But most of all, it is lighter, much faster and more agile than the later Sturmos. It can dogfight surprisingly well if it has to (which, oddly, isn't modeled into the AI Sturmos).

Lots of Coops going on the weekends. Join us.
