View Full Version : Don't want to annoy anybody, but a genuine question!

I respectfully ask, not because I want to start WW3 with some ultra touchy people, but because I would just like to know, along with some others I should think ! -
Is Singapore included as a map set in PF? If it is, as I believe I once read somewhere? then that means PF has encompassed areas well outside the Pacific (quick, duck - incoming flak!).
Fair enough really, there is no sensible reason why it shouldn't be so, it WAS the same enemy! Don't feint but the oceans don't have barriers! Ubisoft can't really call this thing "Pacific and CBI fighters, or Pacific, Indian Ocean and China Sea fighters can they? Or as one wag said "Pacific and China Burma India fighters!"
Come on guys who cares what it's called and where the demarkation lines are. The point is doing something just a little differant if at all poss. Everybody gains! Now put ya maps and rule books away.
I can fly Burma now anyway, no problem.

Nobody knows --- yet. And those that do aren't telling --- yet.

Well, I think Singapore was mentioned in one of the UBI press releases, or summit. I think that is the furthest east the PF maps are going though. Far as I am aware, there are 16 maps to be filled out, and from what I am aware, at least 9-10 of these have been identified through UBI statements.

But we'll just have to wait and see I reckon.

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!

I wouldn't take "Pacific Fighters" so literally. The "Pacific War" included the CBI. Anyone who would get bent out of shape by CBI inclusion in PF because of a narrow reading of the title... needs to get a life. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Here's the thing-

if elements of the CBI are in PF, it's a BONUS-

not the focus of the game.

Sure, the CBI was important, but just because Singapore might be in PF, that doesn't mean that the whole focus of the game should be shifted to what you feel is more important to focus on, Zeke.

Didn't we just go through all of this?

Last week showed a SCREENSHOT of a Britt Buffalo, (IE: Singhapore), and an INCORRECT A6M2 Zero. It should be a KI-27, or at the least a KI-43 Oscar. Zeros, for the most part did not engauge the Britts with F2F Buffalos.

It looks like its 3 for one! Fly US, or the Britts. With P-40s its incredible 3 theaters!

For the Pacific theatre to be complete, it would need minimum not only that, but Korea as well. I'd say we stand half a chance of getting Korea because the Russians fought there for a whole what, couple of weeks?

Then you would need some of mainland China and Burma road type stuff as well; at least the coastla sections.

I stink it would be too much of a long shot to hope for India and flying the hump.

Now with an actual index & more fiber! It is newer & and even more improved! It's Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users!...

Wowee! quick runaround the room, sit down puffing. It sounds like good old Ubiwoobee knew it all the time! If you are right, then I take my hat off to them here! If it was a Buffalo you saw, and Singapore has been mentioned, its looking good. Add to that mix Hurricane 11's, Ki-27's, Ki-43-1's, Sallys etc. and you've got Bloody Shambles coming to life!
All of a sudden us cyber Pacific RAF boys will get a chance on a mainstream game instead of having to download and build our own on another (good) sim, not that thats a problem, if you've got the ref. books. Nice one. Thanks for sharing that with me.
